This entry is part 1 of 7 in the series Think Thin Thursdays

The Not-So-BlogI was hoping to get started last week with Think Thin Thursdays but you know how my internet connection at home is going.  The latest prediction is that I should have it up and running tomorrow.  We’ll see about that one.  But nonetheless, I am ready to start Thinking Thin and am super glad Bridgette at The Not-So-Blog Blog has started this weekly check-in and goal setting blog posting.  I am going to write down my weight right now so that I have something to remember my starting point.  Right now I am at 156 which is down from my all-time high of 161 in September (bad vacation eating!).  Writing or blogging your weight is not a requirement to participate in Think Thin Thursdays.

This week’s question we are to answer and blog about is:

Tell us one temptation that you were faced with this week.
How did you overcome it?
Well, I have to say the biggest temptation I have each week is to avoid going to the gym.  Unfortunately, I did weasel out of going almost everyday but I did manage to go Sunday and then again last night.  Going last night was a major step forward as I do not like going on my own and well Mike is out of town again last week.  I was able to get 35 minutes of cardio in and 30 minutes of weight training.  Not too bad I think.
This week I want to set my weekly goal to be varying up my breakfast.  You see I am stuck in a huge rut and have only been eating cereal with fruit in it nonstop for quite a few months. If I expect to see the scale moving I need to be eating a varied diet not a static diet.  So my goal is to include oatmeal and eggs at least one morning to break up the cereal and fruit habit.
Good luck to everyone in Week 2!

The Not-So-Blog It is time for Think Thin Thursday again!! I have been out of town and at training the past few Thursdays and unable to post on Thursdays on my progress. I am excited to be home tonight and able to post an update. I haven’t been able to go to the gym much at all these past few weeks but I have been watching my diet and eating healthier. I also managed to drop a few pounds with the stomach virus I had over the weekend that I am still recovering from. I am working really hard to make smart choices to keep the few pounds I lost off and to continue to lose. I am going to continue working on finishing my unpacking this weekend so I can find my Pilates tapes to use when I don’t make it to the gym until I get my Wii Fit on Christmas morning. I am so excited. So officially this morning I weighed in at 153 which is 3 pounds lighter than when I weighed in on week 1 (November 20th).

Since I spent most of my week sick and in bed I wasn’t able to set a goal diet wise or exercise wise.  I can tell you though that I am dying to get back into the gym for the first time in a while so I am going to make my goal this up coming week to go to the gym 5 times.  I think that is totally doable in 7 days and will really get some happy endorphins going and power through my last week of work before my two week Christmas vacation begins.

This week Bridgette on The Not-So-Blog Blog is asking us

What is your favorite low calorie snack?

Well I have a few of these.  My latest favorite is any type of Vitalicious muffin/vitatop/brownie with fresh strawberries.  I had a Double Chocolate vitatop this morning with a half cup of strawberries and it was heavenly and 1.5 points.  Another favorite is a small apple with a wedge of laughing cow light garlic and herb cheese.  Strange I know but it is really good and only 2 points.

As always, anyone can join Think Thin Thursdays whether you have a blog of your own or not.  If you would like to blog about it, head over to Bridgette’s blog via the button in this post and start blogging with us.  If you don’t have a blog just leave some comments and join in our fun.

Yesterday, I had my first full physical exam. It was a bit nerve racking as I have never had one before and well they did quite a bit to me from drawing blood, eye exam, hearing test, weight, height, and an EKG to name just a few tests. The EKG was the first that I had ever had and I wasn’t sure what to expect and I will admit I was scared when they were putting the stickers on me and hooking them up. But I survived and hopefully nothing will turn up in my blood and urine work.

One good thing that came out of the exam was my official weight was 151.8!!! So that means I am down about 1.2 pounds from last week. I attribute that to my continued healthy eating and smaller portion sizes. I didn’t meet my gym goal from last week but that is ok because I am satisfied on my eating habits which are a major issue for me.

My goal for Week 4 will be to vary my foods as last week I mainly ate soups/chilis and well that got a little repetitive and was very uninspiring and unimaginative of me. This week I am looking towards more meat based foods and more fruits and veggies but continued focus on smaller portions. I am also going to aim for some physical exercise but I’m not quite willing to put a commitment in writing. I think that will be a good goal for next week.

So down 9 pounds since September 30th and 21 more to go before the wedding in July.

The Not-So-BlogI lost track of what week I am in now.  I’ve been a little sporadic in my blogging for Think Thin Thursday meme but with a new year, I have a new outlook and a resolution to be more organized and on top of things.  So last time I checked in, I think it was right before Christmas, after my illness and I was weighing in around 152.  This morning when I stepped on the scale I wasn’t too surprised to see myself at 153.5/154.  I have been bloated lately and drank a little last night in celebration of the New Year and had alot of pizza.  So no surprise that I’ve gained a little in the water weight department.  I don’t want to keep the scale creeping up so I’ve decided to challenge myself to work out 6 days a week for 30 minutes a day in January.  This is part of the Sunshine Rewards forum’s January Exercise Challenge so I hope to do well and encourage others to keep their goals and get healthier in the new year.

Over on the Not-So-Blog-Blog who is bringing Think Thin Thursdays to us, Bridgette is asking everyone to journal their New Years Resolutions.

Well, my resolutions have not changed since a few days ago when I wrote about them.  I’ll rewrite them though because I hear when you write things down they stick a little better and I could use that LOL.

  1. Be more budget conscious and save more money so I can buy a house!
  2. Lose weight and be more healthy overall!
  3. Be more organized and on top of things!

So there you have it.  A very short list of my resolutions.  All are very doable and are not major ordeals to accomplish so I think I am in good shape.

This entry is part 5 of 7 in the series Think Thin Thursdays

Yay it is Thursday! I am always glad when Thursday hits because that means I only have one more work day till the weekend and boy could I use a weekend right now.  It is never too late to join in with Think Thin Thursdays and it is ok if you miss a week or two here or there.  The more the merrier!

So I climbed on my Wii Fit this morning and weighed in at 151.9.  Not too shabby but I knew that wasn’t consistent with when I’ve been weighing/exercising on my Wii Fit so I didn’t save it and went off to work.  I did climb back on tonight and weighed in at 153.9.  That is more like where I really feel I am with my weight.  Last week I was at 153.4 so I seem to be up .5 pounds.  I also seemed to halfway meet my goals from last week so I’m going to work harder at setting realistic goals and being more strict in following them.  I journaled officially for half of last week and then mentally journaled the rest of the week.  I also made it to the gym about half of the week due to traveling home and being lazy.  So I’m going to work on that as well.

So for this upcoming week my new goal (yes, I’m only doing one) is to JOURNAL everything everyday.  I’m not worrying about points (well I am but not for the goal) but just to get into the habit of writing and reflecting.

Our task this week is to blog about our motivation.

My motivation isn’t the wedding gown being made right now in a size too small.  My motivation is actually my green string bikini I bought 3 years ago when I was at 130 and looking good.  I want to surprise my fiancee on our cruise and wear it around the ship since he doesn’t even know I own anything like that!
