This entry is part 1 of 29 in the series Teaser Tuesdays

While looking for my book challenges, I came across a weekly meme at the Should Be Reading Blog titled Teaser Tuesday.  I really liked the idea behind the meme so I have decided to incorporate it into my blog each week.  I hope it keeps me reading and keeps me blogging on a regular basis.

So here is the premise behind Teaser Tuesday:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!
  • So I just finished my current book, A Size 14 is Not Fat Either! by Meg Cabot so I will go with the book I am going to read next starting tomorrow on the airplane, Big Boned by Meg Cabot.  Big Boned is the follow up to A Size 14 is Not Fat Either!

Magda shrugs.  “I was thinking about what you said yesterday,” she says, not making eye contact.  “There might be a slight possibility I wasn’t exactly clear enough with my intentions…”

~page 203, Big Boned by Meg Cabot.

  • I just started The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy for my Casual Classics Challenge to change things up from my contemporary fiction challenges last night so I will use this book for my Tuesday Teaser this week.  This book is about the French Revolution and the man who helped aristocrats escape the guillotine in France which maddened the French and created quite a bit of speculation as to who was the Scarlet Pimpernel and why was he helping the aristocrats escape.

Chauvelin had sworn to his colleagues in Paris that he would discover the identity of that meddlesome Englishman, entice him over to France, and then… Chauvelin drew a deep breath of satisfaction at the very thought of seeing that enigmatic head falling under the knife of the guillotine, as easily as that of any other man.

I know I’m late but I’m an auditor and it is busy season. I’m lucky to know what a book looks like at this point unless it is the book of FASBs. My two teasers this week:

Marguerite turned it over in her fingers, and then studied the engraving on the shield.  It represented a small, star-shaped flower, of a shape she had seen so distinctly twice before: once at the opera, and once at Lord Greenville’s ball.

    My Two Teasers:

“A woman’s heart is such a complex problem – the owner thereof is often most incompetent to find the solution of this puzzle.”

    p130, The Scarlet Pimpernel
Yeah what seems like forever, I am still reading this classic.  It has finally started to get interesting so I am excited and trying to see what happens next.

    My two teasers this week:

“I looked at him for a moment, suddenly unsure of what to say.  Why was I doing this?”

p144 The Blonde Theory by Kristin Harmel

The Blonde Theory is the next book I am planning to read.  I can’t wait to see what this book is about and what is going to happen.
