My brother called me earlier today to wish me a happy birthday. During our converstation he asked when I had ordered the second Nintendo Wii. You know the one that I had to order to replace the one my family stole from me? Well it seems that it has arrived because he mentioned another box showed up today at my parents house from eCost. Talk about fast shipping! I placed the order on Monday and requested regular ground shipping and it arrived today! I cannot believe it came that fast. I am also upset now because I was planning on meeting my family halfway between their house and Houston this weekend and thought that I could pick up the Wii from them then but it seems like Hurricane Ike has different plans in store for us. I guess I will have to wait until October to claim it. That is unless they decide to steal this one and keep it as well. lol

Oh yes you read that right. My parents have stolen the Wii I was telling you that I ordered last week. I find it quite comical if nothing else. Why? Mainly because my family has never been one to play video games. In fact, my brother had to use his own money to buy his Sega GameGear back in the day and then again his Playstation2. He was the only one that played games as the rest of us just never took the time or an interest in learning how to play. Well that all changed with Nintendo’s Wii game console. My family (all of us) first played it at Best Buy and Circuit City about a month ago when my parents were looking for a new television. It was determined that if I could find 2 of them to purchase them - one for me and one for my family. So off I went and started looking.
Fast forward to last week when I found not one but 8 online at eCost.com and called to ask my parents if they wanted one because I was about to order two. My family (brother included) decided no they didn’t want their own. So I repeated my question, took the second no as final, and ordered just one. What a mistake! “My” Wii arrived at their house last weekend and they took it out to “check it” to ensure it worked since it is my Christmas present. Well my parents and brother didn’t stop playing it! My mom called Sunday morning to tell me she was keeping it and to find another one. Thanks mom! Luckily, eCost.com still has some in stock so I was able to order another. It shipped today and should arrive next week. Hopefully my parents won’t steal this one as well. lol

I am so excited. I was checking a few of my forums a little while ago and saw a notice posted that one of the merchants on Sunshine Rewards had the Nitendo Wii in stock last night. I figured I didn’t have a chance because that was 11pm last night and it is now 5pm and a holiday weekend to boot but I thought I’d go over and check the merchant out and lo and behold they had 7 in stock and at the price range Mike and I were looking for. I will say that purchasing it was not easy but I did manage to get it ordered. The online ordering system kept erroring out on me so I called in and was able to order it via phone. So I should be seeing my Wii in a few days and see what else Mike and I need to get this thing up and running but I have to hand it over to my mom to wrap for our Christmas present. It came with the sports pack so we at least have a few games to play when we do get it. I hear the Wii Fit is hard to find so I might be on the look out for it too. I hear it is really fun to play and I think it would be something I would get a kick out of especially during busy season.
So if you are on the look out make sure to bookmark wiialerts.com (but it is not a very comprehensive listing) and the Sunshine Rewards Forums (there is a wii & wii fit alert thread).
Good luck!

I have never been one for playing lots of video games. The controllers have just become too sophisticated and have too many buttons, joysticks, etc on them that I have given up. But then came along Guitar Hero (It is my duck hunt from back in the day) and now the Wii. I never knew too much about the Wii until my family spent some time in Circuit City and Best Buy last Saturday night while my dad shopped for a new tv. I just love that game console. I like how you can interact with the game and you don’t have to worry about too many buttons and such on the controller. So now I want a Wii!
So I am now signed up for WiiAlerts so I can hopefully find one before Christmas and I am looking for games to buy. I found the Order Up! Trailer on YouTube. Order Up! is a new game coming out where you will start off as a lowly fast food chef and work in the kitchen making your food and recipes and hopefully move up to become a world-class chef! I absolutely love the idea of this game as I love all things cooking and it seems so easy to play and I think you will get to interact with the game a lot and go through the motions of cooking - mixing, beating, combining ingredients - which will be fun.

Check out the trailer and if you have a Wii drop a comment to let me know what you think about the game and the Wii in general. i can’t wait to get mine!

Mike and I are Guitar Hero junkies. We absolutely love playing this game. We were hooked last fall while watching an LSU football game with some friends of ours and have since purchased the Play Station 2 version of Guitar Hero 1-3. Of course with the timing of the latest release, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, I was able to purchase it and give it to Mike for his birthday last weekend
I hadn’t read any reviews online after the game came out, just the speculation and small leaks before the game came out so I was expecting Aerosmith to be the main focus of the game and only have their songs on the game. What I quickly learned was that it isn’t set up quite like that which is probably good for regular Guitar Hero fans who are not crazy about Aerosmith. The game seems very much like Guitar Hero 4 which comes out this fall. You have your “venues” and levels with 3 songs, you have to pass 2 to unlock your first challenge song which is an Aerosmith song and that is where you play with Aerosmith. For some reason you are suppose to have 2 Aerosmith songs (which we did see) and you only need to pass 1 to get to the next level but for some reason Mike would have to play and beat both to move on. Tucked in throughout the game are tidbits about the band and interviews with the members of Aerosmith. So if you are a fan there are some fun extra features you won’t find else where. Overall I’m not disappointed in this game and I think it is a lot of fun and builds off of Guitar Hero 3. I can’t wait to see what Guitar Hero 4 will bring!
