Ooh I’m excited. I just discovered the fashion fun that is called Polyvore! Polyvore is a site that allows you to use any photo online and create a fashion board of coordinating clothing pieces and accessories. I am in the mood to do a little summer shopping soon so I’ve decided to start putting together some boards to see what items I must pick up from Forever21 when I go in a few weeks. This is my first board -> Everything I need for a day by the pool or out at the beach. It is also going to be a great packing tool. I can’t wait to see how this goes.

Man oh man am I in some trouble. Let’s just say that I am still celebrating my new job and I am seriously now going on the shopping ban I was talking about. Plus, I don’t want to buy fat clothes cause I just started going to the gym again and following Weight Watchers with some success. So with that said, here are a few little pretties that I happened to pick up this past week. I am placing some blame on Mike and Mikki for not talking me out of ANY of it. lol Yes all blame is on them!
First up is my birthday present. Botkier at 50% off just can’t be passed up (sign up for Gilt immediately). So Mike was willing to buy it early and let me have it now and not wait till September to use it. <3

Up next were the Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes at DSW. Again Marc Jacobs for $100 and they can be worn frequently to work. Must.Buy.Now! Plus I passed up a pair last year and they have haunted me ever since. I still can’t find a replacement pair.
And the patent red Jessica Simpson shoes from DSW. I already have these shoes paired with no less than 10 items in my closet. Finding a good, non-trampy pair of patent red shoes is very hard. So for $60 a girl just can’t pass it up.

And to finish off the damage, I did place one last Anthropologie order before the shopping ban. I just couldn’t stand the idea that I’m miss out on the two wheeler shirt dress the second time around like I did the first time (and it was placed on backorder for 2 months!) plus the Robin shirt from How I Met Your Mother went on sale. A pretty versatile shirt for spring, summer, and fall depending on the cardigan or jacket you pair it with. Lastly, the free flow tank – on sale of course. Another too perfect to pass up tank.

So after that damage, I’m officially done. For the next month, all you will be seeing is my wish listed items and my favorite outfits.

Back in November (yes November), I came across a shirt that I just fell in love with at Anthropologie. I’m not sure what it was about this particular shirt but it HAD to be mine. I mean it is just a dark gray t-shirt. Anywho, I ran over to Anthropologie one Sunday afternoon and literally spent over an hour searching for this shirt. I’m sure you guessed it, it was not there! I thought maybe if I go back next week I’ll have better luck as it was fairly new to the website. Yeah it didn’t happen and by then it was sold out online. What are the odds?
So I kept a watchful eye on this shirt for a little over a month and never saw it instore or online. That is until last week. Yes, 6 months later it appeared online on my wishlist as in stock. I don’t know what happened – whether the warehouse uncovered it during a cleaning or if someone was holding on to it and finally decided to return it but I FINALLY had my shirt. The best part is that in those 6 months the price dropped from $50 to $10 and I got free shipping!
Some might call me obsessive but I call myself persistent and lucky!

I was super excited today because I had a hair appointment and afterwards felt sooo good that I came home and placed my ModCloth order that I was talking about earlier this week. The funny thing though is that I didn’t buy either item! In fact the dress was sold out (fingers crossed for a restock or return) and I totally forgot about the headphone splitter.
It was so hard to decide what I wanted. In fact, I did my usual game of putting everything I liked in the shopping cart and then narrowed it down before checkout. That way I can compare everything side by side and pick what I love best. I can also see the grand total which is usually enough to make me trim the list down. Online shopping is so good for preventing you from overspending unlike other places where sometimes you have register shock!
So this is what is coming home to me.
The Casserole Queen Dress – I hope it makes it in time for next Saturday when I go to the movie with some friends. I think it is just adorable and would be fun to wear. Very 1950s to me.

The Up on the Roof Dress – perfect for the darn hot and humid days we get here at work. I think a little cardigan over the tank top could make it work appropriate for a casual Friday.

The Coffee Break Cardigan – I’m usually NOT a fan of all things brown but the combination of the stripes and the flowers made this a must have for me. Just something about it pulled me in and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. I knew it HAD to be MINE.

Last but not least is the Lovely Lace Shirt. The combination of the peach color and the lace just drew me in. I’ve been eyeing this shirt for weeks I tell you. It is just so feminine and can be put with a variety of things. Plus, I don’t have anything this color in my wardrobe which is a huge plus.

So that is my shopping haul. There were also a few pairs of shoes but they were sold out so I’m waiting on a restock there too. Maybe next month I can get a few pairs of shoes to go with my new items.

If you are a fan of the styles showcased at Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, then you need to check out Modcloth if you haven’t yet. I didn’t know about this website until one month ago when I saw it discussed on my favorite fashion forum – Stylethread. I am just in love with the quirky things that they sell. Just a few weeks ago they had a cute brown cardigan with little skeleton heads all over. Had I started my Bones marathon sooner, I probably would have snapped it up. Now it is sold out and I am hooked on Bones but it is a tad too late. Next time though.

Today I was doing my usual pass through on all of my favorite sites to see what the new arrivals were. Anthropologie had a few new ruffly things but nothing that was a must have – at least not at full price. Modcloth had 2 really cute things that I wanted to pass along. The first is a headphone jack splitter. It is for those times when you want to share sound but just don’t know how – ie songs on iPods, watching a movie on a laptop, etc. Well, there is a cute splitter that does the trick. It is girlie so don’t expect a guy to carry it around but I’m willing to bet they won’t balk at connecting their earbuds up with you to listen to something. $14.99 for either red or pink.

The other thing I was in love with is this color block tank dress. I love tank dresses especially since I have to deal with the heat of Houston. I mean it was 90+ this weekend and even with the air conditioning going, I was still hot as heck. This dress is light jersey and would cover everything on me. Even though I’m on a tight budget, this might have to find its way home to me. It’s only $47.99 so it isn’t too out of my price range. I think my credit card cycle ends in 3 days so fingers crossed that this dress is still in stock.
Well those are the 2 things that really caught my eye this morning. Tomorrow is Tuesday Markdowns at Anthropologie so we’ll see if anything on my can’t-live-without-it list goes on sale. I’m hoping not.
