Well it seems like Buy.com is having a sale on all memory. I was over there today checking on the status of my order from two days ago – the digital camera memory cards – and noticed that system memory for your computer is on sale as well. If you are running a dinosaur like I am with my desktop, you might want to consider upgrading the memory cards to make it run a tad faster. I found a 2gb card for just under $30 which is pretty darn good. I wonder what else they have on sale over there.

Deal Alert! Deal Alert! Are you planning a vacation, need a budget gift idea, or just need more memory for your digital camera (or digital photo frame), or your wii? If you answered YES to any of these let me tell you about the deal I found this morning.

I woke up and decided to check my email like usual when Mike has to drive to Beaumont. Checking email that early, while it seems a bit obsessive to be on the computer that early, gives me something to do as I eat breakfast alone. Normally I just delete advertisement emails or emails from stores I infrequently shop at, but with needing to stick to a budget and cut down on recreational spending I am actually unsubscribing from most email lists I am on. In order to unsubscribe you have to actually open the email, scroll to the bottom, and then click on the link in very fine print to unsubscribe. Still with me? Good.

So I received one of these emails from Buy.com and in the email ad was the SD sized memory cards for $4. Yes you read that right. 1GB cards for just $4. Since I have vacations coming up and we need memory cards I headed right over there to see if that was a typo. Nope!! I ended up going with the 2GB cards for $9 each. I ordered 4 of them to be exact for Christmas presents, 2 for Mike and 2 for my friend Mikki who is also heading to Europe on a cruise and just happened to ask this weekend how many cards I was bringing since she needed some. I also grabbed two 2 GB Compact Flash cards since my camera uses those for just $11 each. Quite the bargain since two years ago I paid about $40 for a 1 GB card.

So if you need cheap holiday gifts run to Buy.com. There were a ton of things on sale besides memory cards, I just didn’t need any of it so I stayed away from the other categories. Don’t forget to shop through Sunshine Rewards for a 2% cash back reward. If you need to sign up for Sunshine Rewards click on my Earnings Tracker link on the left as there is a sign up link there and get started. With this economy every penny saved is worth it.

I just found out the awesome Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale begins tomorrow at Toys R Us and it includes all video games and all video game platforms. Absolutely no exclusions on games and it is both in store and online so you don’t have to fight the crowds. I sent one email to my brother and mother to get a list of games they might want and Mike is checking IGN to read reviews so we don’t end up with another bust like we did last year with Madden 08. He and my brother are still complaining over that game and they are the ones that told me to buy the darn thing.

So budgeters get ready to save a few bucks and jump on this sale now as it only lasts a week. Also don’t forget to shop through Sunshine Rewards to receive your 2% back for shopping with Toys R Us. If you aren’t a member yet make sure to click on my Earnings page and use the link to sign up.

Any recommendations for Wii games??

Well it seems like my poke at humor regarding Hurricane Ike didn’t exactly work. The latest update from the National Hurricane Center at NOAA has moved Hurricane Ike further north on the Texas coastline and has Houston positioned to get hit by the horrendous northwest quadrant (aka the “bad side” of the storm). So tonight once again I was going through the normal hurricane preparation list: food, batteries, clean clothes, water. One thing I did notice is that I do not have a video camera to make a video of the contents in my apartment. One of the things insurance companies prefer for you to have in addition to receipts is pictures of the items in your house/apartment so that they can easily tell what type of items you have and can easily estimate a quote to help you recover.

Since the camera would become part of my hurricane preparation, I thought finding a used video camera might be best to start with until I further researched cameras. I went over to UsedPrice.com and was able to search for used camera prices so that I could obtain the fair market value of cameras as I looked at them. After searching for other electronics these past few weeks I have learned that not all websites properly price their items and I do not want to be caught off guard again. UsedPrice.com is great for both buyers and sellers of used items because it allows people to leave product reviews and then allows you to purchase for a small fee (or in packages) the average current selling price which allows you to be an informed buyer or seller. If you are in the market to buy or sell, I highly recommend visiting UsedPrice.com to learn more about your products and their pricing.

I love finding bargains on items when I am shopping. I have found over the past year that I can find even more deals by shopping online and using coupon codes at all of my favorite merchants. With a little patience and googling you can find a coupon code for just about every merchant online ranging from 10% off to free shipping or more! Nothing like saving a little money and having the items shipped and delivered straight to your door without you having to leave the comfort of your house.

Just today I was looking for a Target coupon for a Target order I had to place and came across Savings.com during my google search. I was able to find $5 off my order and free shipping coupons that I could apply to my order and save a little money. So thanks to the coupons and the savings on the order total and shipping costs, I was able to add the Friends Season 7 DVD set that I am missing and complete my Friends DVD series. There are many other merchants and coupons over on Savings.com so check them out. With rising energy and food prices, every penny saved counts and Savings.com is here to help you.
