Well that was a frustrating game last night.

Good grief.

3 points.

You would think it was a baseball game.

13-3 final score.

Believe me I know LSU is not a great team.  In fact, I will willingly admit that there are a ton of flaws with this team and the biggest one is our offense.  Why in the world we have decided to be an option team this year just boggles my mind.  We’ve never been an option team and both of our quarterbacks have great arms.  It just isn’t working for us and you can see that frequently while watching a game.  It would be great to go back to the basics – normal run game, normal pass game.  Then maybe we can score more than 3 points in a game.

I think the highlight of last night’s game was the fact that Florida didn’t crush us.  In fact, Florida wasn’t looking too hot themselves for whatever their reason might be.  The other highlight in my eyes is the fact that they finally got our tiger into his game day cage to parade around the stadium.  Maybe they have been working with him to calm his fears of noise and crowds.  I’m hoping he’s there in 2 weeks when I take Mike to his first game at Tiger Stadium.  I’m also hoping the offense shows up.  Lots to work on during the bye week that is coming up.

It’s Game Day!

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: sports

I’m here at home getting ready to head out to watch the biggest game of the week as Mike dubbed it and I have dubbed it the biggest of the year or at least for a couple of weeks. I’m talking about the BIG Florida-LSU game. I’m hoping the special mojo that comes out during night games at Tiger Stadium will come out and help the Tigers pull together and finally look like a legitimate Top 5 team.

The past couple of weeks with the close games and crappy playing has been a bit trying. It is hard enough to sit there and watch it on tv trying to keep your voice down so the neighbors complain but to also hear the commentators and read fans online dissing my team really boils my blood. I’m sure you feel the same way about your favorite team.

So here’s to a good game tonight. I pray that if Florida decides to play Tebow (which I don’t agree with from a risk perspective) that he doesn’t get flattened again and reinjured. I hope that everyone stays healthy and plays well. So with that it is time to don my purple and gold and head out to Big Woodrows here in Houston for some beer, fried alligator, and boudin.

MISSING: HELP FIND BEN BROWN! SAD UPDATE

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

Sad update.  Ben’s body has been found near his workplace.  An autopsy is pending.  :(

Ben and I were classmates throughout elementary school and we reconnected after college through Facebook as his wife is my sorority sister and we are Facebook friends.  She pledged 2 years after I did so we got to know each other very well.  On Wednesday morning, Ben went missing at work and very little is known about what happened and where he might be. Video survelliance shows Ben entering his office building and security shows that he swiped his badge around 5:20am but there is no evidence that he left through his security badge nor video survelliance.

Please pray for Ben, Ragan, and their families.   Ben and Ragan are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and they just celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary on Sunday.

If you are in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, please keep your eyes open for any possible sightings of Ben.  If you are interested in following this story more or volunteering please visit:  Help Find Ben Brown or Find Ben Brown.  Please call 911 if you have any information.

Ben Brown

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for 28-year-old accountant Benjamin Carey Brown, who was last seen entering his United Plaza Boulevard office early Wednesday morning.

Brown entered the Postlethwaite & Netterville building at 8550 United Plaza Blvd., at 5:20 a.m. Surveillance video does not show him leaving, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Detectives found Brown’s car in the parking lot of the office building and located some of Brown’s personal belongings inside his office, Hicks said.

Detectives searched the office building, the grounds surrounding the building and checked with area hospitals with no success. They also tried to locate Brown by calling his cell phone, but there was no answer.

Brown is a 5-foot-7-inch white man who weighs about 170 pounds. Anyone with information about his whereabouts can call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.

Tigers Win! Tigers Win!

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: fun

It has been 9 Very Long years since we have been able to yell that phrase out after the College World Series Championship game!  In fact, I was a freshman in college and my first year as an LSU Batgirl.  It was very exciting and I hoped to have that same chance in Omaha my senior year.  Well, I did make it to Omaha as a batgirl but it was the beginning of LSU’s 2 and done streak so my time was very short but boy was it a blast.  I hope to make it back one day again.

I had a friend send this photo to me yesterday after LSU’s Game 1 win over Texas but I was too afraid to post it today for my Wordless Wednesday post.  I thought I might jinx things.  I’m glad I waited and I’ll share it now. Bevo and the ‘horns just weren’t fast enough or tough enough this time around. They definitely were tasty Tiger Bait!

Tell Me Thursday – April 30, 2009 (belated)

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: Wedding

I realize it is practically Friday morning but that is the way things go when it is Q1 and you are still dealing with standalone audits and bank deadlines. So yesterday I posted this photo for my weekly Wordless Wednesday meme. So now I’m going to tell you about it since it is…

So last weekend, my sorority little sister, Marly, got married down in New Orleans. Her wedding was absolutely gorgeous and everything was great. This photo is of the groom’s cake. A few years ago a bakery figured out how to make a cake in the shape of Tiger Stadium and then other bakeries started copying it. For a while, my friends and I thought it must have been decorated styrofoam because the catering people didn’t cut and serve it with the bride’s cake. Almost an hour later, we saw pieces of chocolate cake floating around and realized someone must have said something to get the cake cut and served. It was worth the wait though because it was absolutely delicious. So no I didn’t make it but boy was it good!
