Back on track – new week, new goals, new to-do list

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

Taking a vacation from everything was great last week.  No stresses and no worries.  That is until I went home and was bombarded with wedding to-do items.  So now I have a new to-do list and am ready to start crossing items off the list.  So far I’ve done four things: ordered the cake topper, finished booking honeymoon excursions on the cruise, applied for a no internation transaction fee credit card (and was approved), and signed up for the big Texas Exes Walk/Run this weekend.  I’m going to continue working on getting things finalized so I can move on to fun things.

I also finally got around to stacking up all of my new books that I recently purchased from the Friends of the Houston Library book sale.  I came back with quite the stack of books for just $43.  I just need to sit down and decide when I want to read each book.  I might need to think about purchasing a couple of bed wedges for my friend and I so we don’t mess up our backs from reading. Her stack is just as high/thick as mine and we promised to trade books once we were done with our bags. That is an awful lot of books to read. We’ll see how we do I guess. I might have to ask around the book blogs to see how people keep from tweaking their backs and necks from reading often.

It’s shaping up to be one heck of a lazy week

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: family

Wednesday afternoon already.  This week is quickly shaping up into a very lazy week.  I have made it to the gym once, I have managed to cook one meal at home, I have read one chapter of the new book I am reading, and I have made as of this post, one blog post.  Wow that is pretty lazy!

But I have to say I am enjoying the veging out and being lazy.  Letting my mind wander and reading articles and blog posts on the internet has really let my mind clear out and I’ve been able to ponder so many different things.  I’ve also been able to start coming up with game plans.  Game plans on things like – budget friendly meals, saving money by using up items I have, finding new things to work on at home to provide entertainment and enjoyment.

So now that I’ve finished thinking and being lazy for the week I think I am going to try and start catching up on the book reviews I need to write and some fun Disney Theme Park Videos to share with everyone.  I can’t believe how long it has been since I’ve done a fun YouTube post.

Time flies when you are caught up in a good book

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

Oh my goodness. I just looked at my blog and noticed my last post (before Wordless Wednesday) was from last Friday. Time surely does fly when you are traveling out of town and also when you get hooked on a good book. I actually finally picked Twilight up from my nightstand and decided to give it a try. I have to say I was instantly hooked on the Vampire romance between Bella and Edward and ran to Amazon to pick up the remaining books. I read New Moon and Eclipse over the weekend and have moved onto Breaking Dawn. I am dragging out the fourth book a tad but I’ll wait until I sit down and write my book reviews to explain my thoughts and why book 4 is being drug out as compared to the other books.

I have so much to say and talk about that I hope I can get myself back on track tomorrow. I think work should start to slow down and I have a fairly good handle on housework before my big Passion Party on Saturday. That deserves a post on its own LOL.

Moving day is here!!

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: family

I can’t believe moving day is finally here. I feel like I have done so much packing wise but yet, every time I pack something I find more things that need boxes and storage. The good thing is that I was able to get my apartment keys today and was able to pay a visit to my new digs. I am so excited. I knew the two bedroom would be larger than the one bedroom I am in now but I didn’t realize exactly how much BIGGER it is! AT&T is scheduled to cut my DSL off today and turn it on at the new place on Wednesday (not sure why it will take this long) so I will be here off and on early next week until everything gets back to normal.

Make your next move less stressful

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: family

This move of ours has been creating more and more stress by the day. If it isn’t the changing of my address for all of my bills or moving my services (internet and insurance), it is the packing! Today I spent a few minutes trying to pack up my kitchen and I ran out of boxes. I am going to have to try and find some spare boxes at work tomorrow and Friday. Luckily, I am just doing a building switch so I can quickly pack, unpack, pack, and unpack throughout the weekend. I am starting to double think first my move and second that I did not hire a professional moving company to help me with the packing process. I originally thought professional moving companies only helped those who were moving internationally or across the country but I found out that there are some companies like Vanlines.com who are moving companies and provide professional services such as packing and unpacking. All you have to do is let them into your home and they do all of the work for you. If I ever find myself in a situtation where I am moving across country or overseas I am going to use a service like this so I do not have the stress of packing for a huge move. Maybe when Mike and I finally do purchase our first home I will be able to talk him into using movers to pack for us then too.
