Games to play during the Superbowl

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: Entertainment

In just a few hours, Superbowl parties all over will start. Lots of friends and family members gathering together to eat, drink, and cheer for whichever team they pick. Many people do pick ‘em for the score at the end of each quarter and at the end of the game. I need to go pick up a $20 so I can participate tonight.

We also play another game – $1 bets. Basically you bet $1 on silly things. A few examples: $1 there will be a Budweiser/Bud Light commercial at the next break, $1 they run, $1 the punt doesn’t go past the X yard line, etc. You get the picture. It is pretty fun and can get outrageous depending on how the game is going.

If betting and picking scores is not your cup of tea, I was sent a drinking game for this year’s Superbowl. I have a feeling it might offend some but I got a kick out of it since I grew up in the area. I would recommend picking up a bottle of pucker because you will be drinking a lot. LOL

The New Orleans Saints Superbowl Drinking Game

1. Every time they mention hurricane Katrina, drink 1
2. If they show pictures of the City of New Orleans right after Katrina, drink 1
3. Every time they say how much the Saints mean to the City of New Orleans, drink 1
4. Every time the words “tragedy”, “flood”, or “devastation” are used, drink 1
5. Every time they talk about how good Reggie Bush was in college, drink 3
6. If they show Kim Kardashian in the stands, drink 5
7. Every time they show a picture of Reggie Bush with a bat or say “bringing the wood” drink for 5 seconds.
8. Every time Reggie Bush gets negative yardage trying to run around in the backfield a bunch and outrun the defense, drink 1 and turn to the person next to you and say “I told you Vince Young should have won the Heisman”
9. Every time Reggie Bush gets up and flexes his arms in that pose he likes to do, drink 1
10. If they mention Tim Tebow for any reason, funnel a beer
11. Every time they say that “it’s destiny for the Saints to win” drink 1
12. If they show footage of Katrina survivors at the Superdome, take a shot of cheap liquor
13. If they call Saints fans the most passionate fans in football, drink 1
14. If they say that the Saints, Saints fans, or the City of New Orleans “deserve” a Superbowl victory, drink 1
15. Every time they say how good of a story the Saints are, drink 1
16. If Jeremy Shockey pretends to be hurt after dropping a pass, drink 2
17. If they mention the Saints beating the Falcons in 2006 in the first game after Katrina in the Superdome, drink 5 and remember that we are still a better football team with better fans.
18. Every time they compare hurricane Katrina to the Haiti earthquake, funnel a beer and yell “bullshit!”
19. Every time they mention Drew Brees as the Mardi Gras king, drink 1
20. Every time they show Archie Manning, drink 1, and mention how bad he sucked. If they show old footage of him on the Saints, drink 5. If they mention how tough of a decision it was for him as for whom to cheer for, drink 10.
21. Every time they show a saints fan yelling “Who dat!” Or a sign/shirt saying the same, drink 1.
22. If they show Chris Paul at the game, drink 1 and mention to someone how much better he is than Marvin Williams.
23. If they show former Mayor Ray Nagin, drink 5 and then punch someone in the face

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Saturday 9

From the official Saturday 9 blog:

Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!

This week’s topic looks pretty fun.  Just last night,  Mike and I were out watching Game 7 of the Cup cheering for our Penguins.  It was quite fun and I wouldn’t let him leave until we saw Crosby raise the Cup up in victory.

Saturday 9: Games People Play

1. What was your favorite active game as a child? I hated playing sports.  I did however enjoy hop scotch and Skip It.

2. What was your favorite board game as a child? Candyland and Mall Madness

3. Tell us about a friend you played these games with in your youth. I usually played with my mom or my brother.

4. What is your favorite card game? Go fish

5. What board games do you enjoy now? Monopoly but boy am I a bitch to play with.  I whine till I get Boardwalk and Park Place.

6. Do you play video games? Which ones? Yes, I have a Wii and I love to play Sega Bass Fishing

7. Tell us about the friends you play games with now. Mainly I play with the same people as before – mom and brother – but I’ve also added Mike to the rotation when he isn’t on the XBox 360

8. Do you play any sports now? Absolutely not but I have started running which I never did before.

9. What’s your favorite sport to watch? I tend to like watching Football and Hockey.

Tell Me Thursday – April 16, 2009

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: Disney
This entry is part 5 of 11 in the series Tell Me Thursday

So yesterday I posted this photo for my weekly Wordless Wednesday meme. So now I’m going to tell you about it since it is…

The photo yesterday is from the new Toy Story Mania ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Can I tell you that that is a difficult ride to get on? It is the newest attraction at Walt Disney World (and possibly Disneyland as well) and as such, everyone runs to ride it first. Now back to the photo. When you are in the queue for the ride you pass through these rooms which are decorated in kid toys and games. There is a huge talking Mr. Potatohead, a barrel of moneys hanging around, and this wall of the game Candyland among other things. Candyland was my all time favorite game growing up. In fact, just a couple of years ago, I bought a new game so I could replace the beat up (and torn up one) from my childhood. Every now and then I drag it out for Mike to play with me. So you could only imagine my excitement when I walked in and saw that. The ride was pretty awesome too. So next time you are at DHS make sure to hit this ride up first.

Save money, play games for free online

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: Entertainment

Mike and I love to play games whether it is at Dave and Buster’s, on our Wii, board games, or just online games. With gas prices slowly creeping back up and food prices not budging, we are looking for ways to entertain ourselves cheaply. I found a pretty cool online game site called MagNext and it is free to join and you can play individually or with friends. It is actually more fun to play against your friends from what I can gather.

Tonight since I was just checking it out, I stuck with playing The Spheron Speed Challenge which is a single player car driving challenge. You try to maneuver your car through an obstacle course and at the same time maintaining your speed. It was a little hard at first to understand how to “gain” speed without using your speed booster but after the 2nd game I felt like a pro. Since it is fairly late, I haven’t been able to check out any of the other games but I think this could be some real fun. You earn points just like other games and I can see a challenge forming between Mike and I to see who earns the most points. LOL

The website is totally free to sign up and to play games. It is a fairly simple process and you can choose what games to play and if you want to play with others or not. You can even invite your friends through the website in case you or they can’t remember the name of the site from normal conversation. Give it a visit today and see how much fun (and budget friendly) these games can be.
