I get to toy shop this holiday season!

Posted under Disney, Entertainment by The Blonde Diaries on November 25th, 2008 3:19 pm

I am so excited. Mike and I get to shop for baby/toddler toys this holiday season. Christopher, our godson/nephew, is turning 1 in a few weeks and is quite into toys and moving around. His mother is planning a trip to Disney World in a few years so Mike and I are trying to find Disney related things so that he can start learning the characters and movies that he will see in the theme parks.

We hit up Toys R Us Sunday morning since we were out and about but I was so disappointed in their toy selection. The selection and layout of the store just isn’t what I remember it to be growing up. A good quarter of the store is video games! Where are the toys? I went searching online and found some disney figurines/toys on MegaToys.com that are just perfect. Christopher likes cars and trucks so I thought maybe a Lightening McQueen or Mater car toy would be perfect. Both are available for $6.99 each so I’m thinking about getting both at that rate because it is so much cheaper than in the stores around here. MegaToys.com ships worldwide so you don’t have to live in the US to purchase from them and the prices and shipping fees for both US orders and overseas orders are great. If you have young ones on your list this year visit MegaToys.com to do your shopping.

Every little bit counts

Being in a car accident is never fun, in fact, it is usually one of the most frustrating things to be a part of especially when it is not your fault. Trying to negotiate with insurance claims adjusters is not fun and these agents usually try give you much less than your car is worth and the cost to repair your car. Well, there is another option out there if you have been in an accident and the accident was not your fault. Advocate Auto Claims will pay you the difference between what the car was worth before the accident and the car’s diminished value after the accident (the difference). You can go online to their site and get a free estimate on your car’s diminished value instantly by filling in a few pieces of key information on your car and the accident. After you are done you can contact Advocate Auto Claims and have them help you receive the diminished value from the insurance company of the person who was at fault in your accident. It is a very quick and easy process and the website is set up to lead you through the process one step at a time. If you have been in an accident within the last 4 years and it was not your fault, give Advocate Auto Claims a visit today and see if they can help you recover the money you deserve.

Pimp your ride (on a budget)

Posted under General by The Blonde Diaries on July 18th, 2008 6:21 pm

I use to get a kick out of watching MTVs Pimp My Ride show. The cars started as a piece of junk most of the time and at the end of the show they were fixed up like they were brand new and had such unique features. Many times it just started with the car being supercharged via an a/c compressor and then the excitement began. While you and I probably couldn’t afford to Pimp our Rides to the extent MTV does, we can put in a supercharger on our car. How? Well luckily I had a coworker who worked in fixing up cars who would discuss the importance of keeping a clean air filter and clean air compressor. I didn’t quite understand until I went over to Superchargerpros.com and read about how the air compressors pretty much control the performance of your car. Very interesting read. I would have never guessed this. I found that they have an extensive selection of air compressors to cover most makes and models that are on the road today. You can supercharge anything from a Buick to a Pontiac to a Mercedes thanks to the low prices Superchargerpros.com carries and the warranties are pretty awesome. The website is layed out very well to find what you are looking for and if you have trouble their customer service is available via email or their website whenever you have an issue. Talk about great customer service. So if you want to Pimp Your Ride (and save some money) visit Superchargerpros.com today!

Beat the Summer Heat!

Posted under budget by The Blonde Diaries on July 8th, 2008 5:16 pm

I can’t remember if I posted about my Sunday or not. I had a great day actually. Woke up early and finished my book, Love the One You are With, and then showered up to go eat breakfast at Christy’s Donuts down the road with Mike and my friend Beth and then hit the zoo. It all sounded fabulous when we were planning it except no one considered that July in Texas is very hot!!! So needless to say after our 2 hours we had had enough fun at the Houston Zoo and quickly ran towards Mike’s car and some much needed air conditioning. We were all very happy to be sitting in the car and under the shade but I noticed it took a little bit of time for the a/c to kick on. Sadly, we think that his a/c compressor is starting to bite the dust since his car is almost 12 years old. Mike isn’t quite ready to replace his car so we are thinking about just looking into a new air conditioning compressor if they do not cost too much to install. We already checked out Discount AC Parts.com and noted that for his 1994 Isuzu Rodeo the part wouldn’t be more than $400 and we could have his brother in law install the compressor once we get it in. We aren’t exactly thrilled about sinking more money into the Rodeo but it would just be too unbearable to go the rest of the year without air conditioning! It never seems to cool off here in Houston. If you are in a similar situation where your a/c compressor is dying and you aren’t ready to replace your car you should check out Discount AC Parts.com as the prices do seem reasonable and the site is really easy to navigate - all you need to know is your Make, Model, and Car Year and you are all set!

Could it be any hotter?

Posted under General by The Blonde Diaries on June 18th, 2008 4:48 pm

The past few days in Houston have registered 100+ degrees outside. 100+ degrees! Can you believe it? I have been truly shocked as I don’t remember hitting 100 degrees all that often the past couple of years living here. Luckily, I have working auto air conditioning due to buying a new car last year but man I would swelter if I was still driving my 1996 Grand Am. There were a few hot summers back home in Louisiana where her air compressor blew out and had to be replaced. It was one thing to go through the winter months with no air conditioning but the summers were not so much fun.

Before the heat cranks up in your neck of the woods give your auto’s air conditioning a once over. If it doesn’t feel cool enough visit your mechanic for a check up or do it yourself by purchasing the needed parts from 1airconditioning.com where you can get a warranty on every part purchased from them as well as free shipping. The site is very user friendly and you can search easily by year, make, and model to ensure you get the right parts for your car.

Drive safely and be cool!
