Another Friday! Woohoo! I am so happy the weekend is here. It has heated up pretty quickly here in Houston (only the low 100s) and with that I am having the worst time sleeping. So all week I have been tired and cranky. I am hoping a little shopping this weekend will snap me out of my mood and help me lighten up a bit.

So let’s get started on Aloha Friday and kick this weekend off!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

What is the one thing you cannot live without at this moment?

Right now it is my green Kate Spade planner.  I know it sounds weird but there is a story to it.  Back in 2005 when I first moved to Houston, all I could think about was hitting the Galleria after my first real pay check as I was broke all summer with no job.  While I was at training, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast and I had a friend who’s New Orleans office, where she was to work, was closed for over a month so that they could regroup.  So she was shipped off to Houston and lived on my couch for a month.  It was pretty fun times.  Anyways, one day I got off of work early so I hit up the Galleria and bought a new pair of designer jeans for jeans day Friday and this green planner.  I swore up and down that I would use this planner every day for the rest of my life (can you see me trying to justify this dumb purchase).  So I was good with it for about 6 months until it got tossed to the side and it was a running joke between us for the past 3 years – Her – How’s that Planner?   Me – “Yeah let’s not talk about it”.  Then I got engaged and found I needed something to keep myself organized.  So that planner goes everywhere with me and is used every day.  I make sure to show it to her everytime I see her now. LOL

Happy Friday! Today is a lazy day for me as I just have to listen to a webcast at work and then go to a lunch with a small group of coworkers today before I am free to enjoy the weekend. I love lazy days like today. I have a short to-do list for this afternoon – return a few items, gather my dry cleaning, and then write some thank you notes. Maybe I’ll start on dinner before Mike gets back from Dallas. Depends on how lazy I feel like being. I’m still holding out hope he takes me out to watch Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Today’s question on Island Life is -> What’s your favorite thing about Summer?

My favorite part of summer is fun in sun and wearing flip flops all the time!  I hate socks and find them constricting so I look forward to the 10/11 months of summer we have here in Houston LOL.
My question for this week:  Penguins or Red Wings?

I’m hoping for a Penguin win!

Aloha Friday

Happy Friday.  Man has this been quite the week!  I am glad it is Friday and the weekend is here.  I am feeling so much better than last weekend so I am hoping to have a smooth trip home and enjoy some time with my family.

So today’s question from the official site is:  Are you more of a book smart or common sense person?

I would say that I am probably more of a book smart person.  I have common sense but I prefer the concrete answers and knowledge you get from looking things up in a book.  I don’t like the abstract very much.
So now on to my question: What are you doing this weekend?

I’m heading home for my brother’s graduation.  It should be nice but not as slow as I’d like.

Happy Friday everyone! I am so happy the weekend is here. It has been one really long week for me at work and the time was just dragging. Lucky for me I guess, our email servers were down today, the client didn’t have anything for us to work on, and we were managerless, so my team and I left at 12:30 to start the weekend early. We should have stuff to do next week so it should all work itself out.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.  If you want to participate click on the button above and get this week’s question to blog about and then leave a comment with your answer to mine below.Today’s question from the official Aloha Friday site is:

What’s your favorite television show?

My answer: right now: How I Met Your Mother, old favorites: The Nanny and Married with Children

My question:

If you could bring back one old television show, which one would it be?

I wouldn’t mind if Wings would come back.  It was always a fun show.

Man it has been a while since I have been able to participate in Aloha Friday.  There is just something about the end of the week where I get caught up in everything else and don’t get to catch up with my blog and weekly memes.  I mainly find this on Thursdays and Fridays.    Luckily, I thought to check early and found that Aloha Friday was posted Thursday night!  Woo Hoo!

Some background on this meme: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. What is your greatest strength?

I always hate questions like that.  I feel like you can only really give canned responses (at least in interviews).  I would say my greatest strength is my ability to keep going even when I want to quit or give up.

Ok my question:

Have you ever tried fried alligator?

Check out my blog tomorrow to find out my thoughts on the subject.
