Moving to the Longhorn state

Thanks to Lemuel Craft

When I first started this internet dating thing I was pretty sure that I would never meet anyone that would be worth spending more than one date with let alone relocating my whole life for. As it turns out I went on many first dates that did not pan out. Plenty of nice guys are out there but just none that really lit a spark in my heart. Once I got matched up with Jay from Texas everything changed. We were not sure how to go about a long distance relationship but we made it work and just last month we both decided that we wanted to get married and for once live in the same state as each other. I packed up my stuff and headed to Texas to give our relationship a better chance of survival. I decided to get an apartment of my own instead of just moving straight in with him. This came along with its own complications of getting set up with utilities and having all of my stuff moved. Luckily TEXAS electricity providers made it very easy to get set up with my power.

Local News

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

The article written by Alonso Kramer

The local news is so negative, it has scared me into researching ADT security in byran mills. I have never felt like I needed an alarm system in the past, but all of the terrible stories on the news make me feel like I am better off with one. I don’t know if things have really gotten that bad out there, or if they just report on more of it now, because that’s what people expect to hear about. I know the world isn’t perfect, but I know there are still good people out there, despite what the news says. The newscasters report in such a sensational manner, that I can’t tell real from exaggeration anymore. All they report about are robberies and murders. We never hear any good news about the town. Local sports and politics get a little two-minute blurb, while crime gets the rest of the half-hour newscast. I don’t think reporting on the negative contributes to anything positive in the community. We need to be aware of certain things, but not every little crime that happens out there.

My DSL is slower than dial up

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

At least that is what it is feeling like! I think at this point dial up would be much faster. Everything was fine around the beginning of the year as you can see from the long list of book posts but after that it has been one huge struggle to just get a webpage to load. I know people exaggerate but these are the results of my recent speed test:
ping = 91 ms
download = .19 Mbps
upload = .42 Mbps

Yes you read that right. So my issue is now flagged for immediate attention at AT&T which basically means we’ll pretend to do some more testing on our end to fix the problem. Just keep reconnecting when you are tossed from the internet and keep refreshing those pages until they half way load.

Sigh. I just know that when I finally am able to load Zombie Lane on Facebook that my fences will be destroyed and zombies will be trying to take over my yard and house.

Standout in the Fish bowls

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

Who doesn’t love a free meal? I’ve always said – if it’s free, it’s for me. I haven’t ordered new business cards since I started my job in September. I think about it every time I pass one of those fish bowls in a restaurant that states drop in your card for a free lunch. I’ve always wondered how best to stand out in the sea of cards so I could win. I think I have an idea now. Why not hire someone to do some plastic card printing? Think about it. A thicker card that is more like a gift card rather than the regular paper rectangle. I bet it would get picked more often. I might have to try an experiment and test this theory.

3 Weeks till Valentine’s Day

Posted by: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: General

If you haven’t started thinking about Valentine’s Day you should start soon.  We only have 3 weeks until it rolls around.  That doesn’t leave much time to order a gift and have it shipped, especially if it is personalized gifts for girls.

Mike and I aren’t hugely into Valentine’s Day. We tend to celebrate it with a dinner at a casual restaurant either the weekend before or after. On Valentine’s Day I usually cook a normal dinner and we do the usual – eat and gym. But I do like surprising Mike with a thoughtful gift – normally something small. I think it is just a nice way to say I love you and was thinking about you.
