A few days ago I popped online and purchased one of Mike’s birthday presents and included something for myself. Who could resist right??
Well today I received a phone call from that merchant (Tapout) only to hear that my portion of the order was out of stock. I was quite sad because sadly I spent longer than 10 minutes agonizing over which t-shirt I wanted before ordering the other day. I was happy though because the customer service rep that called me was really sweet and instead of outright canceling my order or throwing it on backorder like some companies do, she offered to replace my shirt with another or refund my card. So lucky for me I was able to check sizing with her and order the correct size and get the shirt I originally ordered but in black not pink. The other super nice part is that the customer service computers are not connected to the warehouse system to see what is in stock and what is not so she actually took the time to walk over to the warehouse before I got off of the phone to ensure the new shirt I wanted was in stock and could be shipped out with the other item I ordered for Mike. So I would like to give an A+ to Tapout.com’s customer service for going above and beyond to help me complete my order. I hope it gets here in time for Mike’s birthday next week and everything fits so we can wear it for the UFC fight night on August 9th. Hmm maybe I should have gotten one for Beth too since it’s her favorite (Georges St. Pierre) fighting that night. I’ll have to ask Saturday night when we go watch the fight - Geaux Rampage!

I need a baby gift. Well actually a gift for a baby that is 7 months old! Mike and I are purchasing Christopher’s christening gown but since you only wear that once I wanted to get him something else as well for his christening. I think Mike’s sisters and parents are going to have all of the religious items covered so I wanted to get something fun for him to enjoy now. I figure that is one of the perks for being a godmother - getting to spoil a little one.
So once again I ran across a unique new site called Tie Dye Baby Clothes. They are a sister site of Tinytinyclothing.com and have some really cute baby clothes. Growing up I remember how much fun it was making tie dye t-shirts and just saw thing and became nostalgic.

Christopher’s mom is a pretty cool mom and I think she might go for something this fun but if she doesn’t like the heart I found some that were a tad plainer and in navy blue instead. They even make matching socks, hats, and blankets. Christopher can be an adorable bundle of tie dye! Tie dye baby clothes carries a wide range of sizes and has excellent prices that should fit everyone’s budget. If you are looking for a unique gift I would check this site out. If tie dye is not your thing, there were equally as cute and as budget priced clothing on Tinytinyclothing.com’s site. You can even personalize/customize your baby clothes over there. You can definitely find some unique and quality clothing on these two sites.

Last night Mike was asking me what I wanted for my birthday. To be honest I really have no idea. I did notice my old watch sitting on my dresser this morning and thought maybe a nice watch that is a little more current/fashionable. I’m not sure which color to go with though. I mainly wear silver watches but I just know that the minute I settle on silver I will be looking at gold watches because I’ll all the sudden switch over to gold jewelry! Decisions, Decisions.
I did find a pretty helpful website this morning: Thewatchery.com. They sell quite a few brands I do recognize such as Citizen watches, Movado watches, Bvlgari watches and at pretty reasonable prices. The search feature was pretty helpful too. You can search by brand, sex, style, or color with ease. After just searching the results for a few pages I did come across this beauty. It is pretty current with fashion trends and has a little bit of “bling” to it but not totally over the top. I also liked the band - very small and dainty which would work well on my wrists. hmm I think I might have just found a really good birthday present idea to pass along to Mike! It’s made by Corum and is 65% off of retail prices through that website. Mike and I love sales so that could be a good selling point

With the price of continuing to rise and rumored to hit $4.50 a gallon this summer, I have been looking for ways to save money. One thing I thought about today after spending yesterday driving my friend to the mall and surrounding shopping centers during her visit was shopping online. My thought was not only would I save time by shopping online but I could possibly save money by not having to drive to stores with the high prices of gas. I found one pretty nifty site: FootwearEtc.com. They offer free shipping, no sales tax, and lifetime returns. I also noticed they sell a variety of popular brands like Uggs Australia, Ecco shoes, and New Balance at reasonable prices. If you are looking to save some money in your budget give online shopping a try.

Mother’s Day is May 11, 2008. Are you ready with a gift in hand? If not maybe these ideas will help you out. I will admit I was not quite sure what to give my own mom for Mother’s Day this year. I ended up creating a goody box at Sephora and shipping it to her. I focused on items that I enjoy and that I knew she’d never buy herself like whipped body butter and a metallic blue case with 5 makeup brushes included. I also purchased a summery beauty palette that I thought would work well for her vacation next week so I hope it looks as good in person as it did online!

But if beauty items aren’t her thing or maybe you can’t make it to the store for a last minute gift then think about possible online shopping sprees tomorrow afternoon. Many online sites are running specials this weekend for Mother’s Day with free shipping or a % off the total order.
One last reminder for this Mother’s Day: don’t forget your mom-to-be! With the weather changing and new fashions arriving in the stores daily maternity clothes would be an excellent option along with a much needed foot massage/pedicure I’m sure.
Well I hope you all have a fabulous Mother’s Day tomorrow and if you haven’t finished your shopping you better start moving!
