For many people, sports is an important part of their everyday lives. For others, it is just something fun to watch when you have some down time at home. Whether you are an avid sports fan or a recreational fan, sports has probably impacted your life in one way or another. There have actually been a few moments where sports have made me take notice and turned me into a larger fan than I was before.
One such instance, LSU football and their win in the 2004 BCS National Championship game. I was a part-time fan during college. I went to the games because I had nothing better to do and my boyfriend at the time was in the band. I paid attention for the most part but didn’t really care one way or another what happened in the game. All I cared about was leaving to go home for the night so I could relax and go to bed. Things changed though the year after I graduated. I was living at home and working a job that I wasn’t too happy with preparing to go back to school for the Spring semester in 2004. Since I was not a student, I had to watch the LSU football games from home because season tickets were completely out of the question and I didn’t mind too much not having to go and “suffer.” Right before Christmas, my old boss called me up to tell me about the fabulous Christmas present she got me. I wasn’t sure what it was but I was curious and made a point to go and visit her one night after work. What was in a nice gift bag was 2 tickets to the 2004 BCS National Championship game in New Orleans featuring none other than LSU. After attending that game and seeing their performance on the field and feeling the sense of pride they gave all of us fans, I have become an avid fan once again and make it a point to watch every football game here in Houston on the TV since I can’t make it home to actually go to the games. I get myself and my fiancee who is not an alum decked out in our purple and gold and we camp out at Buffalo’s for hours watching and cheering.
I found this video montage of sports clips of that 2004 game on SportsVids.
If you are an avid fan or just like to watch or share your own sports videos head over to SportsVids and start watching their collection of online sports videos. They have some great sports vids already uploaded and there is always room for a few more!

I’ve been tagged by my friend Kimberly at All About Kimberly in the latest internet/blog questionnaire game. Normally I delete them but since it is only five questions and about Halloween I could not resist! I absolutely love Halloween as it is so much fun to dress up and either collect candy or pass candy out to visiting goblins and ghosts. So here I go.
1. What were your favorite games to play when you were a kid? Do you remember the rules? Share them here (bored kids grounded from video games will thank you):
I am a huge Candyland fan which is pretty fitting considering the holiday we are about to celebrate. I hated getting sent back to different lands though when I was almost to the end. Oh did that make me mad. Other fun games were Mall Madness (I started shopping at a young age) and Life because I use to cheat to get 2 cars full of kids for the money you could collect at the end.
2. Did you go trick-or-treating when you were a kid? What was your favorite costume ever?
Heck Yes! I can’t really remember a specific costume though. Lots of times I would just recycle the previous year’s dance costume to be my Halloween costume. On my Disney trip this year, Mike and I dressed up like Mousketeers from the Mickey Mouse Club in the 90s so that was a fun costume.
3. How old is “too old” to go trick-or-treating?
I don’t have a particular age in mind. I guess it depends on the situation. My friends and I stopped around 12 though because it just wasn’t “cool” to do anymore.
4. Do you remember any silly or gross songs or rhymes from your childhood (like, “Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts”)? Share them with us!
Oh how I wish I did. I can’t remember any right now.
5. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
Growing up my elementary school use to have a fall fair that would fall on Halloween weekend. I use to love meeting my friends up there and going through the trick or treat lines, playing carnival games, and then going into the “oh so scary” haunted house. It was so much fun growing up even though it was so cheesy. The hayrides were a lot of fun too.
6. What goodies do you hope to find in your treat bag this Halloween?
I’ve already done my trick or treating and I was so hoping to receive the Ghiradelli squares that were being given out at the Disney Halloween party but I didn’t get any. Maybe next time.
Now it’s time for me to tag you: Sunni/Marilyn. Anyone else out there that reads this….consider yourself tagged too!! Here’s the link with instructions of the game, but what it comes down to is that you’re it so get out there and tag someone!

Kimberly over at All About Kimberly posted the results of an iVillage quiz she took the other day and was asking her readers to take the quiz as well. Well, I am all about online quizzes because they can be so silly yet fun to take. Off I went over and the topic of this quiz was “What is your e* personality?”
*Since I am family friendly around here I’m changing that e word to behind closed doors since it essentially is the same thing lol.
So my quiz results have left me with this personality to ponder for the rest of the day. It leaves me wondering where along the lines I became “princess” like - before or after the Disney trips began. lol This quiz has me thinking that I have bought into that whole Princess marketing they have been throwing at us females for the past few years. The description below has me thinking Cinderella waiting for the handsome prince to come along and rescue me from my boring and quite lonely life (in my case just rescuing me from work is good enough). Take the quiz and let me know what you find out.
The Romantic
The Romantic can think of nothing more e* than being saved by someone. You aren’t necessarily helpless, but the thought of being rescued makes you feel desirable and sexy. You need to feel sought-after and practically worshipped before anything else can be on the agenda. You prefer partners who not only make passionate love to you, but also who’ll know how to please you without any instruction whatsoever. Your lover’s sexual finesse inspires you and heightens your own capacity for sexual pleasure. You’re especially fond of people who can read you and deliver the sexual excitement you secretly desire.

Mike and I like to make lists of things. Recently on our Disney trip we had a few mental lists going - characters we wanted to see from previous trips, characters that we missed last trip and were bound and determined to find, and characters that are “rare” but we would still look for just in case they made an appearance. Oh! We also had a list going for Mickey in his different outfits. Apparently there are over 80 different costumes Mickey can appear in!
I thought it would be fun to share with all of you my top 15 favorite Disney Characters and see who was on your top 5 list to see how many we had alike! Here is my Top 15:
Minnie
Mickey (of course)
Tinkerbell
Marie from The Aristocats
Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty
Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Oliver from Oliver and Company
Daisy Duck
Cinderella
Buzz Lightyear
Dopey
Snow White
Genie from Aladdin
Fairy Godmother
Alice from Alice in Wonderland
Looking at that list there are only two of those characters Mike and I didn’t see in the Disney Parks last week - the two cats! How awesome is that!
You actually don’t have to go to the Disney Parks to see your favorite characters. In fact, you can see them every day through the Disney Bingo game brought to you by Screen Life Games who also bring you Disney Scene It! Disney Bingo is a fun interactive game where everyone can play because the numbers are called from a DVD you insert into your DVD player. Each number includes a Disney character, many of which are on my Top 15 list and probably yours as well! The game is on sale at Amazon.com and Drugstore.com so if you want to get a head start on your holiday shopping this would be a great item to pick up. Check out the video below which describes the game and how to play it.

My brother called me earlier today to wish me a happy birthday. During our converstation he asked when I had ordered the second Nintendo Wii. You know the one that I had to order to replace the one my family stole from me? Well it seems that it has arrived because he mentioned another box showed up today at my parents house from eCost. Talk about fast shipping! I placed the order on Monday and requested regular ground shipping and it arrived today! I cannot believe it came that fast. I am also upset now because I was planning on meeting my family halfway between their house and Houston this weekend and thought that I could pick up the Wii from them then but it seems like Hurricane Ike has different plans in store for us. I guess I will have to wait until October to claim it. That is unless they decide to steal this one and keep it as well. lol
