Besides wanting to increase the emergency savings fund and losing weight, I have another reason. What you may ask? Well, Mike and I are planning a budget trip back to Walt Disney World in Orlando next fall. Last time we went I ballooned myself up to 160 pounds! eek! If I can get my survey taking butt into gear and earn the money, we’ll be going back next September for Free Dining. I found some great deals on Disney World Tickets at Orlando Fun Tickets so it hopefully won’t take too many surveys to pay for it all. I was shocked at how good the ticket prices were over there. Much cheaper than Disney (who just raised their rates!!!) and some of the other ticket outlets that are known around the web.
Minnie is my absolute favorite and I remember the first time Mike and I went down to WDW we found her in every park. Yup, we tracked her down and Goofy (Mike’s favorite) so we could see them in their different park costumes. Minnie can be found in a camping outfit in Animal Kingdom, a pioneer costume in the Magic Kingdom, and her famous red and white polka dot dress in EPCOT and in the Hollywood Studios. Goofy has an array of costumes too.
I am also really looking forward to trying out the refurbished Space Mountain. I hope someone uploads a video on YouTube when it reopens in November. I am wondering how much, if anything, will change. When I was younger, my family went down to Orlando and I was scared to death to try Space Mountain but a little coaxing from my dad did the trick and it has turned into one of my MUST rides when I go back. I will admit it is a cheesy, not scary at all rollercoaster but it is fun nevertheless.
Do you know what is happening on June 18, 2010? I honestly did not know about it until I read about it on a message board two days ago. I have to say I am fairly excited about it but it seems like it is way overdue. Waiting another year is just sheer agony for some from what I can read.
So what exactly am I talking about here? The new Disney/Pixar movie coming out next summer – Toy Story 3. The loveable movie about a boy named Andy and his toys with the two most famous toys being Buzz Lightyear the Astronaut and Woody the Cowboy Sheriff. I loved the first two movies and really enjoy the theming and attractions at Walt Disney World so as you can imagine I am super excited over the new movie coming out next summer. I think it is a tad early to be stirring people up and getting people excited with an advertisement about the movie but it is Disney and they know what works. If you haven’t seen the advertisement/trailer teaser here it is courtesy of YouTube.
So yesterday I postedthis photofor my weekly Wordless Wednesday meme. So now I’m going to tell you about it since it is…
The photo yesterday is from the new Toy Story Mania ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Can I tell you that that is a difficult ride to get on? It is the newest attraction at Walt Disney World (and possibly Disneyland as well) and as such, everyone runs to ride it first. Now back to the photo. When you are in the queue for the ride you pass through these rooms which are decorated in kid toys and games. There is a huge talking Mr. Potatohead, a barrel of moneys hanging around, and this wall of the game Candyland among other things. Candyland was my all time favorite game growing up. In fact, just a couple of years ago, I bought a new game so I could replace the beat up (and torn up one) from my childhood. Every now and then I drag it out for Mike to play with me. So you could only imagine my excitement when I walked in and saw that. The ride was pretty awesome too. So next time you are at DHS make sure to hit this ride up first.
Can you think of a better way to celebrate 2009 than with a contest to win a free trip to either Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or the Disneyland Resort in California? I know I can’t! Disney is offering just that. A free trip for four people to travel to one of these Disney parks to meet with Tinkerbell and her four Fairy Friends. The prize package includes 4 park hopper tickets, a special meet and greet with Tink and the Fairies in Pixie Hollow, round-trip airfare for 4, and hotel accommodations at the Disney Resort.
Now the important stuff: How to Enter. All you have to do is head over to Disney’s Fairy website, PixieHollow.com, and sign in with your Disney.com account name and password and then enter the name of your favorite Disney Fairy before Midnight on January 31, 2009. It is that simple. While you are there you can learn more about the new meet and greet at the Disney Parks in Pixie Hollow and play some fun games with your favorite fairies. Good luck and I hope that if I can’t win then one of my readers will!
