So I have about 80 days until my cruise leaves Port Canaveral, Florida. Mike has already started dreaming about the tasty food we’ll find on board and how much he is planning to consume. I would like to share in Mike’s dreams but I sadly remembered that our excursions will be on beaches and right now I can’t wear any of my swim suits. I am in love with a retro suit over at Mod Cloth but I refuse to pay $90 for a suit in a size I never want to be again.

So the gym called and I answered the call. I had a little motivation from my therapist. You see, she thought it would be fine for me to hang out at home and veg out during this temporarily long vacation I am on as long as I ate well and went to the gym. I’m on week 3 and doing much better. I no longer fight and try to bargain my way out of going. I willingly go and try to have a good time but man my legs are sore. I’ve had a few good things come out of this new gym thing I’m doing. The first is that I did lose a couple of pounds with these regular workouts and I have clearer skin.

Clearer skin you say? Why yes. Exercise means you need more fluids, more fluids like water and sugar free kool-aid leads to happier, hydrated skin. Happy & hydrated skin helps keep the pimple count down. Also, since I’m on this temporarily long vacation, I no longer have to put on make up every day. So now I work out with clean, open pores each day. I swear working out is the best way to get rid of pimples. You increase your vitamins, water intake, and clean out your pores each time you go. You couldn’t ask for a better way especially since it is fairly free. If only it could be bottled up and sold to the masses. It would be more efficient if nothing else.

They make creams, lotions, and potions for just about everything. Wouldn’t it be cool to have tattoo removal creams?! I always hear about people growing tired of their tattoo, regretting their tattoo, or just plain changed their mind. Unfortunately, laser technology doesn’t always work for everyone and it takes multiple treatments that just rack up unnecessary bills. A magic cream would be awesome – at least in my opinion. They make cream to reduce stretch marks which is under your skin so why not removing ink?

Next time you go into the nail salon to get a fresh manicure or pedicure think twice before you put your nails under those hand dryers or at least go prepared. The UV lights found in most salon dryers dries out your skin and can be just as bad to your hands as a tanning salon. If you prefer the finish of hand dryers like I do then come prepared with a moisturizer that contains SPF. When you get to the point in your manicure where they lotion you up, skip the one provided by the salon and use your own. It will save your skin and keep wrinkles at bay.

I am a believer in Western/Modern/Chemical-laced medicine. If it is available why not use it right? But sometimes taking the au naturale method is a great preventative measure. Case in point – drinking water and eating fruits and vegetables keeps your skin clear and dewy. It’s basically the au naturale approach to acne treatment. The vitamins and minerals provide the right balance within your body and decreases the oiliness in your skin. The water keeps you hydrated so that you don’t dry out or clog your pores with dirt and dust in the air. With Spring right around the corner I can’t wait to eat more fresh berries and other summer fruit. I know my skin will be cheering.

Are you tired of wrinkles and slight signs of aging? Ever thought of Botox? I have to admit I had similar thoughts and feelings not too long ago myself. In the end, I decided that 29 was too young to start cosmetic procedures and decided wrinkle creams were the way to go. So far my skin is looking great and fresh. I ended up opting for Clean and Clear products and Boots products. Both are worn only at night and are weightless. Talk about easy and effortless! I don’t have to think twice about my beauty routine. I just slather everything on while I brush my teeth and wash my face.
