I have my fingers crossed so tight that they are going to turn purple soon. Figuratively that is. I have been talking about looking for a new job for over a year now and I took my first step this past Monday by meeting a local recruiter and handing over my resume. It has only been 2 days but he’s come back with 3 job possibilities already and one sounds great. I am trying not to get too sold on it right now because he’s only just passed my resume to them and they might not like me or I might go to the interview and find out the job isn’t what it seemed. But so far it is exactly what I am looking for and it is a dual role position where I can broaden my experience and start dabbling in a different job area. Basically, it opens up yet another door for later on in my work life. Plus the pay is fan-freaking-tastic. So if you could cross your fingers with me and send some good job vibes my way I’d love you forever!

I hate filing taxes. I hate it so much that I made sure to be a financial statements auditor and stay as far away from taxes as possible. In fact, my client is a partnership and, therefore does not even have corporate taxes that I have to worry about. Talk about some luck.
Luckily for Mike and I, our taxes are fairly straightforward this year. We have the standard W-2s and then 1099-INT schedules to report and nothing else. Very easy. I understand though that not everyone has plain vanilla taxes and often are sent forms and schedules they don’t know what to do about. I highly recommend visiting the IRS website and trying some search terms until you find the helpful tax information you need. I realize that saying IRS and helpful in the same sentence can be a little bit of an oxymoron but you can really find some good information on their website. The last thing you want is to end up owing an exorbitant amount to the IRS and go into debt. Interest and penalties assessed by the IRS on a late payment or a balance can be awful. In fact some people consider taking out emergency loans to try and avoid or minimize the interest and penalties they have to pay on the amounts they owe.
I hope your tax season goes as easily as possible. I know there will be a huge sign of relief on April 16th.

So the other morning I went with my coworker to talk to one of our client contacts. This has been a rough busy season so far as we started much earlier than usual working late and weekends. To combat this, I have been taking my sleeping pills and getting a full nights rest each night, reading before going to sleep, and dressing up a little more – ie more tights and dresses. I thought I was doing well.
That was until I walked into this particular client’s office and she told me that we looked very tired. ACK! I know it is because I had some visible
