This entry is part 1 of 18 in the series Aloha Fridays

Welcome to week 1 of Aloha Friday.  This week’s question by Islandlife808.com is Where do you live and what’s the weather like there?

I am in Houston and we have a cold front coming in this weekend.  I am not looking forward to highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s.  It just doesn’t seem fair for it to get cold so sudden and so fast.  I think it should stay in the 80s year round here as that is a nice blend of 90s and “cold” to me lol!

My question to you, do you prefer hot or cold temperatures?

If you would like to play along with us this Friday, leave a comment below answering the question, make your own blog post with a new question, and then head over to islandlife808.com and leave your link and start visiting some fellow blog participators. :)

It is that time again: Time for Aloha Friday!!  I don’t know about you but I have had one busy Friday.  I am ready for the weekend to get here.  I started out by having to pick up client breakfast and delivering it by 8:20, training began at my company’s building 4 blocks over at 8:30.  Once that was over at 11 I had enough time to run back to my client site to go over a few questions with my managers before my Take 5 lunch at 12:30.  I finally made it back to my client site at 2pm but I cannot get into the right frame of mind to do some real work.  I am doing all of my piecemeal things now so that I can do real work this weekend from home.  Fun right?

Our question this week from Islandlife is:

What are you thankful for?

Well, as much as I complain about my job and how busy I can get or how boring it can be I am thankful that I was able to go back to school to be an accountant.  During good times and bad times accountants have a fairly stable and much needed job.  From what I have heard in my training I should be good at least through the IFRS conversions scheduled to begin for most public companies in 2014/2015.

My question to you all is:

What are you most looking forward to on Thanksgiving day?

For me, it is the ability to relax with my family and not have to worry about anything for that one day.

It is that time again!  Aloha Friday.  I just love these short questions each week and hearing what other people are doing and thinking.  This week since it is Black Friday, the question on Island Life is “Are you going shopping today?”.

I will probably go out later tonight.  We have our extended family Thanksgiving meal at 1pm and I was not in the mood to go out this morning so my brother or mother and I will probably venture out after our lunch and see what we can find.  I really don’t have anything in particular but I do need to go to Barnes and Nobles since I stayed up till 3:30 last night reading and finished my book.

My question this week is if you went shopping, What was the best deal that you found.  It could be shopping online or at the brick and mortar stores and gifts for yourself count ;)

Oops! I totally got carried away at work and then again when I got home yesterday afternoon cooking my chili and I forgot to do my Aloha Friday post.  This week has been a fairly crazy one with my being sick for half the week and I am having a hard time catching up on everything I need to do as well as keeping track of what day it is!

This week’s question over on islandlife808.com is

What do you want for Christmas?

Well to be honest I don’t know what I want.  I thought everyone was going light on Christmas so when I saw a good sale or something I couldn’t live without these past couple of months I just saved my money and bought it for myself.  Turns out, people aren’t going as light as I thought they would and I have nothing that I really want for Christmas, just small things I would like but don’t have to have.  Not that I am complaining at all.  I think next year we just need to communicate a little better.

My question for this week is

What don’t you want for Christmas?

We all have those gifts we don’t want like socks and underwear. The only thing I really don’t want is more perfume. I have 4 full bottles right now and I have not been wearing perfume much lately so I don’t really need another one to add to my cabinet.

Happy belated Aloha Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!  I am so glad the weekend is here.  It has been a long week and I am just ready to relax and spend some time with Mike.  No big plans for Valentine’s Day except that I am going to see Legally Blonde the Musical with my mom tomorrow night.

Island Life is asking us to write about: What’s the worst Valentine’s Day gift you’ve ever gotten?

I have to say that I have been fairly lucky and haven’t received a bad gift yet.  Emphasis on the yet piece as I have a long life left and I’m sure there will be one year that Mike forgets or gives me something less than desirable like a toaster or something.

So now it is my turn.  I want to ask you all, what kind of candy are you hoping to receive for Valentine’s Day?  I wouldn’t mind some Cadbury Dairy Milk fruit and nut bars.  I am just hooked on those and they have to be imported from England.  Go figure that I would like something not so common like that.
