My coworker and I are reading the Sookie Stackhouse series (Dead Until Dark, etc). She is going on to book 4 while I am finishing up book 2. Our other coworker just brought in the rest of the series for us to borrow and immediately I began reading the backs of all of the books to see what was going to happen. I also took the last book and started flipping it to see if any characters appear or look missing. I was soon labeled a book spoiler. I didn’t share what I was looking for or found out by flipping the books but nonetheless I was given this label.
Are you a book spoiler? Do you like reading ahead in a book to see what happens? I love to do that. I also love to grab the next book in the series to see how it begins and ends. I guess you can say that I don’t like suspense or mystery. Maybe it is the Type A and Control Freak personality peaking out.
In any case, I don’t feel like I’ve spoiled the books for myself. In fact, I find them more interesting once I see what is going to happen and I want to know how the story “gets” there. I cannot wait to get home from work tonight so I can finish my current book. My only wish was that I had an Amish fireplace that I could turn on and curl up in front of a fire to read my book. It is freezing here in Houston (by my standards) and I would love to have a nice warm fire to warm up in front of with hot chocolate and a good book. Maybe in my next house I can get a fireplace.
Happy reading!

I hate hate hate spoilers – either from others or by doing it to myself by skipping ahead. You remind me of Harry from When Harry Met Sally. He always read the last page first so he’d know how it ended in case he died before it was over ;0)
