The first in a series challenge is aimed at helping you get started reading some of those series books that you have put off. There are a few series that I have been reading about this past year in the blogosphere as well as books that I have seen on Amazon or at the Library that I have been wanting to read. So this seems like a great way to see if I will like the series enough to continue reading them – by reading the first book! I am aiming for the Curious level but hoping to bump it up to the Fascinated level by next December.
I plan to start the Stephanie Plum series (Janet Evanovich), Sookie Stackhouse series (Charlaine Harris), and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series (Ann Brashares)
The official challenge guidelines:
1. Anyone can join. You don’t need a blog to participate.
–Non-Bloggers: Include your information in the comment section.
2. There are four levels:
– Curious– Read 3 novels that are first in a series.
– Fascinated – Read 6 novels that are first in a series.
– Addicted – Read 12 novels that are first in a series.
– Obsessed – Read 20 novels that are first in a series.
3. Any genre counts.
4. You can list your books in advance or just put them in a wrap up post. If you list them, feel free to change them as the mood takes you.
5. Challenge begins January 1st thru December, 2010.
February 2010 Update:
So far I have crossed off the first 9 books in the Stephanie Plum series and the first 2 books in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I am hoping to finish both soon and move on to the Sisterhood books.
