In December, I have a 2 week staycation booked. The two weeks would be the week of Christmas and then the following week. My partner suggested the team take those two weeks off as we will be working massive overtime starting tomorrow through mid-December and we would need a break before busy season starts in January. I love vacation so I didn’t want to argue with being told to take some. The past 2 years I’ve been on the receiving end of emails from HR that I am maxing out and about to lose vacation so being told to take it is fabulous!
So I don’t have any real plans for this staycation. I know I need to do some cleaning around the apartment and I’ll have some last minute holiday shopping to do but I’m not sure what else I will do. I know Houston has somethings I have yet to discover so there are some new things I can do with a little research. I’m just not sure what I will do. Obviously, a staycation in Houston won’t be as fun as some of my other vacations like my favorite, orlando vacations or beach vacations, but it should still be a good time. I am hoping Mike’s work gives him an extra day or two off and maybe we’ll hit up Moody Gardens. I haven’t ever been there and it is such a shame since it is in our backyard practically. I hear they have penguins which are one of my favorite animals and they also do a great holiday light show outside.
Any native Houstonians with ideas for my staycation?

Staycation sounds good. I’m off at the end of the year but will not be going anywhere but stay at home and spend time with my sister who will be back for Christmas. She works in Sydney.
