I’m glad I’m not the only hypocrite in this family!
Author: The Blonde Diaries / Category: EntertainmentMike and I are huge UFC fans. We enjoy watching the fights and decided to tune into The Ultimate Fighter on Spike this season since Kimbo Slice is on. Kimbo is the YouTube street fighter trying to make it into mixed martial arts (MMA). There is a lot of hype around Kimbo but none he brought on himself. After watching 2 episodes you just can’t help rooting for the guy.
So that said, last night was the big fight between Kimbo Slice and Roy Nelson. Since I didn’t have access to cable I asked Mike to refrain from watching from his hotel room and we’d just watch the download this weekend. So Mike complained a little but he agreed. Now I’m not one that likes surprises or suspense so the minute I woke up this morning I decided to check out the Sports page on Yahoo. There is a separate section for UFC but I decided if I was to know the winner of the fight it would be on the front page and I wouldn’t need to go digging. So that was my “excuse” and sure enough I found my answer.
All day I’ve felt like a bit of a hypocrite. I mean I couldn’t wait another day to watch myself. How terrible must I be. Then Mike came home from Beaumont as a surprise and I found out he cheated too the same way. All guilt is gone and I feel much better. I’m not the only hypocrite in this family. LOL

Sooo….who won?! When we were on vacation in Ontario one of the bars we were in had some Top 50 Greatest UFC Matches thing on TV. The sound was off but this guy sitting next to us knew all about the sport and the fighters so he pretty much narrated the whole thing for us with all the historical background. It was like watching a train wreck – I just couldn’t take my eyes off of it. I experience the same phenomenon when I come across a Rugby match.

Roy won but it wasn’t decisive and was pretty disappointing. I hear Kimbo comes back to replace another contestant in another week or two.
UFC does drag you in and gets you addicted pretty fast. I watched my first Rugby match (well partially watched) a few weeks ago on cable. Pretty interesting stuff there.
