This is a photo taken from Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) in Venice, Italy last month. I wish I had a great story to tell about the photo but I really don’t LOL. Mike and I spent 5 days in Venice as part of our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the old city as it was just so interesting and easy to get around in. The people there were very friendly and happy in general. Venice was hot but not too crowded which was excellent (a plus about the recession). Venice is about 2 square miles in total area and since it is surrounded by water you can walk everywhere or catch a water bus. So we did a bit of walking and I was able to take a few “scenic” photos like this one. I just loved the row of gondolas and the view of San Giorgio Maggiore from standing in the Square. San Giorgio Maggiore takes up an entire island in the lagoon and it almost appears to be floating depending on your angle.

So there you have it, a brief explanation of what this photo is of. By the way, we did take a ride in the gondola but not here. I’ll have to use that for another WW.
