So yesterday I posted this photo for my weekly Wordless Wednesday meme. So now I’m going to tell you about it since it is…
So I realize I haven’t written too much about Mike and I’s honeymoon to Europe last month. I think I will slowly start writing about it but most likely in the form of WW and TMT posts. If I get wild and crazy I’ll do some on other days of the week but life is in my way right now.
This photo was taken in our hotel room in Venice, Italy. We stayed in the Hilton Molino Stucky (thumbs up) in case you are looking for a hotel. Anywho, on our way out of the airport in Venice after paying for our water taxi, a young guy about my age decided he had to enter the airport through the exact same door I was trying to walk out of with 2 rolling suitcases behind me. There were 6 other available doors for his use but he picked mine. I got caught up with my suitcases while avoiding him and broke the strap of my sandals. I was upset because I love these shoes and I only packed a total of 4 pairs of shoes for this trip and 1 had already eaten my heels raw so they were out for the rest of the trip and now the strap was broken on these. I didn’t know what to do. My tape together with a bandaid didn’t solve the problem and I had no other tape on me.
Luckily, Mike came to the rescue and found the little sewing kit in the hotel room and started sewing my shoes for me as I napped that next afternoon. My shoes were as good as new and they have held up since without any problems!
So there you have it, the story behind my new husband, the thread, and the silver sandal.

You have such a great husband!! Not many would break out the sewing kit for their wives! They might break out the credit card but not the sewing kit!

I’ve got a hubby like that too! He knows how to sew buttons back on – I don’t. He knows how to cook – I don’t. He actually enjoys doing dishes – I don’t. He was well trained and I was smart enough to notice and designate him a keeper!
