A couple of years ago, the City of Houston cleared out a few old buildings in the center of downtown. I wasn’t quite sure what they were going to put in their place so I didn’t pay too much attention to that area of downtown. It wasn’t until about a year ago that Mike and I were driving around lost trying to get to our favorite beer bar that I saw what was being built in that area. A shopping, dining, and entertainment complex!
A few of the stores have opened up for shopping – Forever 21 and Books-A-Million and a new seafood restaurant opened up – McCormick and Schmicks. I’ve never been to a McCormick and Schmicks but the menu looks fabulous. Just looking at the photos on their website is making my mouth water. Shrimp and Steak, calamari, and pretty martinis. They have a box where you can enter your date, time, party number, and the location you wish to dine in and make your reservation. Talk about making things really easy and straight forward for people! They also have a pretty awesome happy hour menu. I will have to call to see when happy hour is each day so I can meet up with some friends – $3 cheeseburgers, $2 hummus, $4 calamari – literally steals of a deal! Mike and I both have July 3rd off. We might just be heading over to McCormick and Schmicks to try the food out and then do a little last minute shopping at Forever21 and Books-A-Million.
