My Wordless Wednesday post has me thinking about my vacation a few years ago to my favorite zoo: The San Diego Zoo. My mom and I went my junior year of college because I finally made straight A’s and it was time for me to cash in on my promised vacation. Since there was a new baby panda living there it wasn’t a difficult choice to pick my vacation destination to sunny San Diego.

We went for four full days and it was fantastic. It was a tad chillier than I was expecting but overall the Zoo, the scenery, and the shopping were great. We stayed at a Holiday Inn not too far from the coast but if I had to do it over again I think I would check into San Diego Condo Rentals as the hotel was nice but not exactly worth what we were paying. We thought it was a good deal because they offered a shuttle service to the tourist destinations but the shuttle wasn’t too reliable and we had to take taxis and those bike-cart things which added up. I think had we gone with a roomy condo we could have saved money by buying food at a grocery store to eat at the condo plus we would have started with a rental car right away and felt much safer. Also the pool wasn’t too great and there was no hot tub. With a condo rental you get both a pool and a hot tub. The perks just add up the more you think about it. Pools, hot tubs, kitchens, and, last but not least, great views. We didn’t have a view like this at the Holiday Inn. Sigh… I’ll know how to plan my next vacation to San Diego and it will start with a condo rental, a trip to the Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park.
