The Blonde Diaries

Wow! February 1 already. That means Mike and I have 5 months and 10 days until our wedding. It is kind of exciting and yet scary at the same time. I’m scared we won’t get everything done in time or that we will forget something and have to try and track it down at the last minute or do without. I’ve been questioning my laid back approach this week wondering if that was the right way to go about planning my wedding. Well, what’s done is done. I can’t change things but I can try to be a little more proactive now. So last Monday, I had outlined a list of “half-checks” and things I hoped to have checked off of my list this week. You can see that list here.

So how did I do? Well, not too bad but not too good either. This was the “to-do” list:

• Wedding invitations - We agreed on a design.  I just need to pick out the wording and the lettering.  Half-check!  Should be final in the next week and ordered.
• Hire a limo – still open and I have not done anything towards this.  Will work on this week
• Workout – I have been doing Wii Fit and made it to the gym yesterday and today.  Check for me!
• Sign DJ contract - this one was a tad frustrating.  I have had to call a few times to rerequest info and the contract.  I finally got the info late Friday night from the DJ but no contract.  Another rerequest. Should be final soon
• Find someone who can help with Mike’s baptismal certificate – Mike finally got in touch with someone at the church we think he was baptized at.  They are looking for his certificate.  We will be calling back tomorrow to see their progress.
• Purchase Bridesmaids gifts – CHECK!!!  I ordered them Monday night and they should be shipping soon.

So I have a few holdovers from this past week to carry into this week.  I am adding a few things to the list though.  I’m going to have Mike purchase his groomsmen gifts and we are going to start looking at tuxes and rings next Sunday.  Anything that can be knocked off the list now will be instead of in May or June.
