I don’t know about you but growing up there are quite a few trips I remember solely because they were filled with STRESS. Many times it was due to not knowing the area and trying to drive around in a rental car which often led to us driving around longer than necessary and going very long routes to get to our destination. Lately, I have left the rental car at the airport and have found taking either a taxi cab, hotel shuttle, or public transportation is the best and least stressful form of transportation while in other cities. I will admit it can be a little pricey but if you plan far enough in advance and do a little research you can save some money traveling this way.

I know for our upcoming honeymoon, Mike and I will be using public transportation. I can’t imagine trying to get around on my own overseas. I have a friend going in May so she is going to let me know what worked for her and what didn’t. She is use to traveling to large cities and using various forms of transportation so I value her feedback. In fact, she just went to New York City and had a fabulous time and it was completely stress free. I have been wanting to go up there to see Central Park and some of the museums and Broadway so I’ve been writing down her tips. The other day when we were talking about transportation and hotels she mentioned using the LaGuardia Airport Car Service company and shared a van with a couple of other girls on the trip and it took them from the airport to their hotel in Times Square for $34 total. Talk about a bargain and totally stress free. They just met the driver by baggage claim and took off to see the sights. Now that is something I would pay extra for.
