The Blonde Diaries

So last week, I was on the Knot boards looking for recommendations on a DJ and Limo for the wedding in July. I noticed a girl with my wedding date thanks to a ticker in her signature and realized that according to the ticker I have just 5 months and 2 weeks (well 1 week now) before my wedding. So I started to panic just a little bit because there is still a lot left to do and I have not gotten serious about losing weight – no surprise right?

So I made it my mission to find a DJ last week and called and emailed a few for quotes and availability. Luckily, the one the Zoo recommended last September still has openings and the price was in line with the other quotes so I am going to go with them. So half check for the DJ as I still haven’t received the contract via email to sign and send with my deposit.

Next, finalize brick and order for installation at the Houston Zoo before our wedding. Mike and I were able to quickly review the order form from last fall which we had drafted our brick on and I was able to transfer to the new form and mail off with our credit card information. So check for the bride and groom wedding present! We are officially done with this one. Now just cross our fingers that it will be put in by our wedding reception and will be easy to find.

The limo is still open. I have a list of companies people have recently used thanks to the Knot boards but I haven’t been able to google any of them for website information. I hope to carve out a little time this week to finalize this one. So I will say a quarter check on this one.

Next, another huge check. I was looking at TripAdvisor and a few other websites last week in regards to a hotel in Venice for our stay before the cruise. I had found a handful of cutesy hotels in Venice within our price range but since they were all 20 rooms or less, many were already full for our dates! So after much more looking and discussing with my friend Mikki I decided to play on Priceline just a tad. I went with a 5 star hotel in Venice (there are only like 5 of these) for $100 a night and of course it was rejected but they counter offered me for $130 a night so I grabbed it. So check on room to stay in Venice!!! Next up, cruise excursions!

So some progress is being made and other things are bumping along in the background. This week’s goals are as follows:

• Wedding invitations – I am back to square one on these
• Hire a limo
• Workout
• Sign DJ contract
• Find someone who can help with Mike’s baptismal certificate
• Purchase Bridesmaids gifts
