Must be a new round of bannings over on the DIS Boards

I noticed the hits to my blog were on the higher end of average today and when I went over to check the blog stats plugin I noticed that there were quite a few hits from various search terms containing the words “DIS” “disboards” “banned” and “banning”. Seems like I must still be ranking pretty high on Google thanks to my post last April on Banfest 2008.

From what I can tell thanks to the UnDis (or the site that cannot be named) it seems like people got their panties in a wad yet again on the Budget Board – illegal Photopass and refrigerator swaps have gone bad and the Racists and Conservatives are running rampant on the Community Board thanks to yesterday being the Inauguration of President Obama. Oh and the webmasters are threatening to sue another website because their name is too close to the Dis boards and people might get confused over their name. Yeah…

So from what I can piece together is that there have been more bannings, more poofed threads, and not alot of explanations going on. I don’t know if this will turn into Banfest 2009 but one Mod – RickinNYC – did a YAGE’d over there (that is short of yet another grand exit) and posted a fairly funny, yet true view on the DIS Boards on this site -> http://secret-squirrel.webs.com/index.htm. Way to go Rick. If only everyone could take off the rose colored glasses and see the true DIS.

If there is another great BanFest for 2009, don’t worry I’ll post the list. Until then, go visit the Unoriginaldistroublemakers instead of the Dis.

Hey there. Came across your blog and must say, job well done. As a tried and true Disney World fan, it’s nice to “see” others out there.

To that end, it’s also great to see a fellow fan that has common sense and is not blinded by the pixie dust. Particularly when it comes to sites such as the DISboards.

    Best,
    Rick
