Last weekend I was pretty darn scared to fly out of Pittsburgh with the snow and sleet coming down. I mean the crash in Denver was just last month and was due to similar weather conditions. Then, I heard about how they “de-ice” planes up there and was starting to wonder what the heck because we don’t have anything like that here in Texas. It was quite surprising and a little scary when you aren’t use to flying in those conditions all the time.
So while I was worrying about the weather, I should have been worrying about geese. It appears that two geese (well could be more once the investigation is over) were sucked into the engines of a US Airways plane yesterday and caused that plane to make a crash landing. It was a miracle that the pilots did not panic and thought about a safe way to crash land and save all 155 lives on board. I’m glad there was a happy ending. I think we need more of those nowadays.
