Looking for something new and fun to do in Houston??
Author: The Blonde Diaries / Category: GeneralMy friend and I were sitting at Miyako’s Sunday having lunch before we went to see the afternoon performance of The Santaland Diaries (hilarious). My friend has decided that she is setting one of her New Year’s Resolutions to be “trying out new things” such as taking leisure classes, joining new social groups, and attending festival events in Houston to name a few ideas she had. I thought it was a great idea and I am going to join in on the fun as much as I possibly can.
I found a fun recreational activity that I am jumping at the bits to do. What is it you ask? How about outdoor ice skating in downtown Houston!! It is just like Rockefeller Plaza but here in Houston and not quite as cold. The rink is called “The Ice at Discovery Green” and is open from now until January 19th. There are different themed nights and I am hoping that we get to go this Friday when the local radio station is broadcasting the latest pop tunes. I have been ice skating a few times but Mike has never been so I think it will be really fun. He goes back and forth between thinking it will be easy and then wondering if he’s going to know how to skate and be ok on the ice.
I am going to bring my camera and try and take some photos of us this week when we get some time off of work to go. They might show up as next week’s Wordless Wednesday so be on the look out.
