I like to think of myself as a smart traveler. I try and keep myself to two carry-ons at most which contain my wallet/handbag, camera, iPod, and laptop (when necessary). Every now and then I’ll forget and not put one or two of those items inside of a larger bag and I am left trying to pass security with more than 2 carry-ons. This can be a pain since we now have to take off our shoes at the airport and now with winter upon us our winter coats. It can be very easy to forget about a carry-on when you pass through security and have it walk off on you. My dad actually lost his digital camera in Belgium last week because he had to be searched by security and had too many items floating around. Now my mother and I will be shopping for digital cameras this Christmas to help him replace the one he lost but we can’t replace the photos that are now lost.

So please remember to try and contain everything into one or two carry-ons and pay attention to your surroundings so you don’t lose something. It is a painful and expensive lesson!
