Man last week was a very tiring week and weekend. I spent most of yesterday in transit first leaving the hotel, then the hospital, and then the various airports. Luckily, the weather was good and we had some great tail winds which helped the planes arrive earlier than expected. I actually had to wait on Mike to come get me instead of him waiting on me.
I wish I had some good news to report on Grandma. Unfortunately, I do not. In our update today, we learned that Grandma had a stroke between the time we left yesterday at 2pm and this afternoon when my mom heard from my uncle who lives with my Grandpa. This time the stroke hit the left side of her body so she has paralysis on that side right now and partial paralysis on the right side from a stroke a few years ago. Grandma still is not talking and I don’t know at this point if she is still alert and responsive or not. I just pray that she is healing and not suffering. At this point, I’m not sure what kind of recovery she will have but she is a fighter and has fought back from many adversaries. I am just glad to have spent the money to fly up and see her last week and especially to get there Wednesday night so that I could spend time with her and her old self. Thoughts and prayers are still much appreciated.
