Healthy tip #14

This entry is part 14 of 17 in the series Healthy Tips

I spent a few minutes this weekend going through a few old copies of Shape and Self magazine for more healthy tip ideas. I came across one that isn’t too relevant to me but it is relevant to a friend of mine who is currently expecting her first child in March. There has been a lot of focus lately in the media about getting out and exercising to help the obesity issue facing the US population but there hasn’t been too much focus on other health benefits to exercise and walking. Well, I would like to share with you another good reason why we all need to start being a little more active and why expecting mothers should be encouraged to exercise at low and moderate levels.

Babies carried by women who exercised for 30 mins 3 times per week had lower heart rates in uetro than those carried by inactive mothers. This may cut risk for heart disease later in life.
