Just wanted to give an insight into what a Hurricane evacuee is doing before, during, and after the storm hits.
As I posted earlier, Mike and I chose to evacuate to San Antonio yesterday. Our choices were Baton Rouge (my parents) or San Antonio (his family). After the latest report on Hurricane Ike’s movement we decided the safest and best option would be San Antonio. This is actually where we came for Hurricane Rita a few years ago and proved to be a great choice.
So today, Mike and I went to the hair salon that our Best Man’s financee works at and had our hair done for vacation next week. After that we spent the afternoon at his parents house eating authentic Vietnamese food which was great. Now we are back at his sister’s house and we are hanging out with our godson/nephew. He is quite a little doodlebug and can really wear us out. He is about nine months old now. I think tonight we are taking his sister out to Outback as our thanks for letting us evacuate. I don’t know what we have in store for the rest of the weekend. We have to pack for Disney tonight so maybe some shopping at the local mall and outlet mall and maybe a trip downtown to go to Margaritaville or Pat O’s to get a hurricane.

Glad you found a good place to go. we’ve come to town so that we’re at my parent’s house. It’s a little more sturdier of a house, but being in town it has a much greater odds of keeping electricity or getting it back faster.
