I am looking to help support a cause - can you help??
Just as my post title states, I am looking to help support a cause and I need help. What I have is a ton of books and CDs that I have over the years accumulated but have lost interest in for various reasons, mainly because I am not interested in the same things that I was 10 years ago. For the most part the books are in good shape but have some wear. The CDs are fairly clean (ie no scratches on the disc, minimal scratches on the case) as well and play without any problem. I will disclose that the books are mainly of a chick lit genre and some high school required reading books. The CDs vary in genres but there are some with explicit lyrics that I would feel bad about donating to a children’s cause.
So I need help finding somewhere to donate these that will not cost too much money out of pocket. I have been searching through scour and google for possibly a military donation program but what I have found so far has required everything to be new not used. If you know of a program or a place that I could contact to find a home for these items I would appreciate it. The best form of contact would be to leave a comment directing me/people to a site so that more than just I can find a home for things that others want and we do not need.
When I contacted http://soldiersangels.org/ directly not too long ago, the contact told me that they could provide you with addresses for soldiers or soldiers’ families that would appreciate your donations.

Thanks Kimberly. I did email them directly this afternoon just in case they would take the items or knew of someone who would. I am waiting to hear what they say in their reply.

Why don’t you donate them to a local library. Most libraries carry things like DVDs and CDs now, although they don’t often get funding to get a wide variety.
