The Blonde Diaries

Thought I’d give everyone a small update to a few things I have been posting about lately.  I have talked with my mom a few times since yesterday afternoon when I was discussing the need to try and help them find a generator.  Well, after camping out for 9 hours my dad was able to secure a small generator to allow them to run the refrigerator, a fan, and a small air conditioning unit to try and help suck some of the stickiness out of the house and keep germs from brewing.  The power came on for about 5 minutes yesterday before it went out again so hopefully that is a sign that they are moving faster in Baton Rouge restoring power than previously thought.  Mike saw a bunch of Centerpoint Energy (Texas company) heading their way on I-10 yesterday morning when he was going to Beaumont so that is a good sign too.  I will probably check in again this afternoon with my parents and see how things are going.  Not sure if it is lucky or not but the bridges around the area my family lives in are closed due to high water so my brother gets a few more days off of work and school.  I know he can use that.  On the unfortunate side of things, LSU had to cancel their football game against Troy and rescheduled it for November so no LSU game for me to watch this weekend.

Now on to the fun thing: my Wii.  I think after reading a few forums I might have slightly overpaid for it but I am hoping that I didn’t.  It did ship out yesterday and I have a tracking number so I should see pretty soon what is in that box and make a decision.  I think either way it is only $50 so I might just suck it up and deal with it instead of continuing the wild chase to track one down.  I tend to not like making things like this a game.

Tomorrow I go taste one last cake baker in Houston before making a decision.  I can’t wait and hope the cake turns out tasty and within a reasonable price range and is sans roach.  I’m not asking for much now am I?
