I have never been one to really live off of fast food. I am sure though that my habit of eating out once or twice a week at a casual restaurant though is not helping my waist line. I am not so naive to think that there is not a little something there that is counteracting my diet. I am hoping though that I am able to wean Mike and I off of that habit for at least a little bit. So what brought this thought up? Well, here is a scary tidbit of information I found from my Self magazine a few months ago:
The fast track to weight gain
On average people tend to be 1.5 pounds heavier for every fast food meal they eat per week according to a study conducted by Tempe University. In general, people who ate fast food 3-6 times per week had a BMI (body mass index) a full point higher than those who rarely ate fast food!
Eek! I will definitely rethink future fast food trips after reading this!

Ooh! That’s an interesting habit. That’s one benefit to living in such a rural area I guess. We really don’t have time to drive the distance required for fast food.
Our weakness is prepared food out of the freezer dept that all we have to do is heat up in the oven and eat. I know that’s not so healthy either.
