Sophie Kinsella is my absolute favorite author second to Ms. Jane Austen. Ms. Kinsella is the creator of the Confessions of a Shopaholic series and has about three stand alone books from this series. Each book is part of the chick lit genre but they are not overly done – meaning lots of sex, bratty characters, etc. Each book’s plot normally focuses on the main character’s current life, how they would like to improve it (normally via a different career choice), and then a problem they are faced with and must overcome. I think the idea that each character is “normal” and has a similar lifestyle to myself and people I know really helps me relate to the books and why I enjoy them so much. I found this interview of Ms. Kinsella on YouTube discussing her latest novel Remember Me? and the upcoming Confessions of a Shopaholic movie which is due to hit theaters early next year.

Great choice of an author to interview. I can’t wait for the Shopaholic movie and have already read (and enjoyed) Remember Me?
