Just curious after the madness around the last release of the iPhone if anyone ran out today and picked up the 2nd generation phone. I for one did not. I’m not a fan of AT&T/Cingular and therefore don’t want to switch carriers to get the phone but if it were offered by Verizon I might consider it. It seems like a nice phone when I see my co-worker use it. It truly is a shame that all cell phone makers don’t sell their phones as unlocked phones where you could put them on any network you wanted to. It makes sense from a consumer standpoint but I can see the business standpoint on why you wouldn’t as you couldn’t have limited edition or made only for XYZ network to gain new customers.
So back to the original question: did you get a new iPhone and how are you liking it?

I truly think turning down the iPhone was Verizon’s wireless’ stupidest choice ever.

That is probably right but then again I have been reading on Yahoo News that once again Apple didn’t do enough testing on this model and there are software issues yet again with it. You would think after botching the last one they’d make sure to get this one right.
Wasn’t Verizon developing their own version of the iPhone??
