Batman: The Dark Knight

I remember doing a survey last year about the title of the latest Batman flick and had no idea it would become a blockbuster. I thought it was going to be one of those straight to dvd animation flicks. I guess it goes to show that survey companies know how to disguise things so that you will give your opinion and not know too much to go blabbing around to people what you know.

I’m not sure whether or not I’ll be watching this movie. I haven’t see Batman Begins yet so I don’t think I can jump straight into this movie. I might wait until it is released on DVD and then watch both movies back to back. Sometimes waiting and watching them like that is better because you can watch the entire story all at once and not worry about forgetting key pieces because you watch movies years apart.

But if you are unlike me and are wanting to see this movie in the theaters you might want to act fast. I just heard on the news that Fandango is reporting that some midnight showings of this movie on opening weekend are already sold out and they are expecting many more sell outs for all movie times before this movie hits theaters. The main driver has been people wanting to see Heath Ledger’s final performance but there is just also a large number of Batman fans out there that are going to want to see it asap. So if you have plans run on over to Fandango and get your tickets. Of course don’t forget that if you are a Sunshine Rewards Member to go through their Fandango shopping link so that you can earn your Sunshine Rewards credits!

  1. I usually like these movies, but so far the previews for this have not really impressed me and I’m wondering if Ledger’s death will cause it to get way more publicity than it deserves.

  2. I think he is going to end up with more awards than he might otherwise have for this movie. You know Batman movies usually are not nominated for awards but I bet he’ll be up for best supporting actor and such next winter.

I will say I think the publicity will be earned. Even before his death there was so much hype about how good he was in the role and such so I don’t know if it would be any different if he were still here.
