Memorable Vacation + a Contest!

Author: The Blonde Diaries  /  Category: Travel

With my mom in town to help with the wedding planning, we were able to sit down last night to a wonderful dinner at the Downtown Aquarium (a Landry’s restaurant), relax, and reminisce about things. One thing we started talking about was family vacations throughout the years and some of the cities that my friends have now ended up living in since I am having a bit of a problem deciding on who to ask to be bridesmaids. One of our memorable summer vacations occurred during my junior year of high school. My family and I did a quick college tour of a few schools I was interested in located in Georgia and Florida. It was quite the drive from Baton Rouge up to Atlanta and then down to Orlando but it was pretty fun. One thing though that was not fun was getting lost in Atlanta looking for our hotel on Peachtree. You see there are hundreds of streets in Atlanta (ok maybe that is a slight exaggeration) called Peachtree something (ie Street, Road, Circle, Court, etc). So we spent over an hour on the wrong Peachtree looking for our hotel. Then the next morning we were so confused and lost that we missed seeing some of the better sites in Atlanta because we either didn’t know they were there or missed the hours of operation. If only we would have known some things to do in Atlanta we could have timed things a tad better. But as it was we did get to see Underground Atlanta, the CNN center, the baseball stadium, the Olympic area, and Georgia Tech. So overall we were pretty happy. I think next time I will check around for online travel guides before we depart on a vacation so that we’ll know what to look for before getting lost and confused! It seemed to help my friend out immensely when she was planning her trip to New York over the Christmas holidays last year as she was able to get a detailed list of Things to do in New York City and then make a must-do list, nice to do list, and not important for this trip list.

If you are planning a vacation soon and not sure what to see or where to go give Trusted Tours & Attractions a visit. Right now if you sign up for their newsletter you are entered into their contest to win a free GPS device to help keep you from getting lost.
