Ever Changing Technology

Posted under budget by The Blonde Diaries on May 17th, 2008 10:15 pm

Wow! The other day I was booting up my desktop and trying to open up internet explorer and noticed it took alot longer than my work laptop. I couldn’t figure out why it was so slow until I realized how old my desktop was - 5 years old this fall - and my laptop will be one year old in July. No wonder I see a huge difference in speeds. It has made me start thinking about a new computer for home usage. I don’t feel comfortable using my work computer at home for personal usage but I don’t like sitting at my computer desk because it gets hot. I think I’m going to start researching light weight laptops and see if maybe I can find a deal on one and put my rebate money towards one. Not too sure what to look for or what is a good price on a laptop. Things have changed so much in 5 years. Any recs?

  1. I’ve had several different brand names in laptops and I find Toshiba to be the best bang for the buck.

  2. Thanks Kimberly. My brother had a toshiba a few years back and it was great. He has an HP right now and I’m not impressed.
