I love Spring. Life is born, gray skies give way to blue skies, brown trees turn to green. Going outside for some fresh air and sun does wonders for the mind. Bright colors come back to fashion. Heck just seeing sandals and short sleeves compared to long bulky sweaters is good to me. Its just a fabulous time.
I ventured online last night and started checking the upcoming spring fashions. As I was creating my wish lists at each site responsibility started to kick in. I hate when that happens. My parents were firm believers in saving and taught me from a very young age I needed to save my money and think out purchases. It was actually a great life lesson and one that has stuck with me. With the state of the economy right now and the amount of people living with debt right now I am glad that my parents had enough willpower themselves to keep from overextending our family growing up and that I have enough sense to do the same.
But last night I started feeling sad. For once in my life I wish I wasn’t so responsible. I wish I could just do like other girls I know and throw caution to the wind and buy a cute new name branded outfit costing hundreds. Or walk into the mall and use my tax refund for the Burberry bag I’ve been eyeing since last summer. Instead responsibility and guilt kicked in and once again I just picked up a few trendy shirts at Forever21 instead of 1 at Nordstrom. And the bag is still sitting on my wish list without a target purchase date anywhere in sight. Maybe one day I’ll hit the lotto and go on a mini spree.
Until then a girl can window shop and dream right?

Ugh. I feel your pain. I try to tell myself I’ll be happy I saved later in life, but sometimes it’s just annoying.

Not to be a bad influence, but have you priced what that bag would be in England? I know on a purse forum I used to lurk on, it worked out to be cheaper to get an LV in Eurupe, after you got your VAT refund.

That was actually my original plan to buy it in England but I’m not sure how the exchange rate will go over. I might check into it though.

Good for you! I have so little willpower when it comes to spending. I’ve been setting small goals though, and it looks like it is working for me.
Hopefully some of your good habits will rub off on me!

Good girl! I am not a shopper! I have other things that need to be done! Not alot of time for shopping so I know what I want before I go! Usually well thought out by that time!
Thanks,
Sandi
